Juanda Falls

Level 8 : 400/800, 200 ante

John Juanda has made the final table of this event in back-to-back years, winning the title in 2011 and scoring a sixth place finish in 2012. This year, however, he will not be coming back for Day 2.

Juanda remained quiet for most of the day and did not seem to gather any momentum since late registering. His final hand occurred when Max Pescatori raised to 2,500 from under the gun. Action folded around to Juanda's big blind and he announced all in for about 15,000. Pescatori called and the two were off to the draw.

Juanda stood pat and Pescatori patted right behind. Juanda shrugged and began to throw away his cards before Pescatori even tabled his. The Italian Pirate showed {8-}{7-}{6-}{3-}{2-} which was more than enough to KO Juanda. Pescatori has eliminated a fierce enemy and now built his stack up to around 49,000.

Turner Takes Some From Hennigan

Level 6 : 250/500, 125 ante

Jon Turner opened with an early position raise and it folded around to John Hennigan who three-bet to 4,900. Turner called the three-bet and stood pat at the draw. Hennigan took one and action was back on Turner. He checked and Hennigan checked it right back.

Turner tabled {9-}{8-}{7-}{3-}{2-} which was enough to get Hennigan to muck his cards. Turner picked up the pot and now has about 40,000 in chips.

Flack Grabs One

Level 6 : 250/500, 125 ante

Layne Flack raised to 1,600 from under the gun and Greg Mueller called from the next seat over. Calvin Anderson was next to act and also flat called while the rest of the table folded.

All three players drew one card at the draw and each checked after the action came to them.

"Jack-seven!" announced Flack, fanning {j-}{7-}{6-}{4-}{3-}. Both Mueller and Anderson mucked and Flack picked up the pot. He's now up to around 44,500.
