Schulman Makes Eighty-Seven

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 300 ante

Stuart Rutter opened to 3,000 from the button and found a three-bet to 8,500 from Nick Schulman in the big blind. Rutter called and watched as Schulman took one card at the draw. Rutter stood pat.

Schulman squeezed out his card and then tossed out a 15,000-chip bet. Rutter called and Schulman placed an {8-}{7-}{6-}{5-}{2-} on the felt. Rutter mucked his hand and Schulman dragged in the pot. The reigning champion now has about 60,000 while Rutter has fallen to around 45,000.

Flack Busts Zalewski

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 300 ante

We arrived at the table just in time to see Flack's made hand of {9-}{8-}{7-}{3-}{2-} turned up on the felt. Herezel Zalewski drew one card and was looking to stay alive in the tournament. He squeezed out the {J-Diamonds}, flung it on the table, and exited from the tournament area. Flack picked up the pot and now has about 135,000 in chips.

Williams Doubles Through Cheong

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 300 ante

We came upon David Williams all in from the small blind for his last 13,600 and was up against Joseph Cheong in the big blind. Cheong called and Williams drew one card. Cheong stood pat and tabled his hand.

Cheong showed {J-}{7-}{6-}{4-}{2-} for a pat jack-seven. Williams rolled over {7-}{6-}{5-}{2-} and began to sweat his final card.

"I'm fifty-fifty," said Williams. He squeezed it out a bit more.

Once Williams learned his card, he slapped it face up on the table to reveal that it was the {8-Spades}, making him an eight-low and allowing him to double up. He now sits around 27,500 in chips.

Parker Makes Wheel to Bust Williams

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 300 ante

We found David Williams, who recently doubled through Joseph Cheong, back on the short stack and all in. Benjamin Parker opened to 2,500 from early position and it folded to Williams who shipped his last 9,000 from the button. Parker called and took one at the draw. Williams stood pat and tabled his hand.

Williams: {J-}{10-}{8-}{4-}{2-}
Parker: {7-}{5-}{3-}{2-}

Parker was drawing to the nuts and he hit exactly that when he picked up the {4-Spades} as his last card.

"Just the wheel," chimed Layne Flack from across the table.

Williams was eliminated from play and Parker picked up a pot that brought his stack to around 62,000.
