Jon Turner Bests Jeff Thompson

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

Jon "PearlJammer" Turner raised before the flop, and then called when Jeff Thompson made it two bets to play.

On the {j-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop, Thompson led out for a bet, and then called Turner's raise.

On the {k-Clubs} turn, Thompson check-called a bet, and when the {4-Clubs} dropped on the river, he bet out and folded to Turner's raise.

Turner won the pot and showed down {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}.

The Bubble Approaches

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

With just 39 players left in the field, and 36 spots being paid out here today, the play has tightened up as the dreaded money bubble has arrived.

David "Bakes" Baker Busts a Player

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

We saw one player already all in after a series of bets and raises before the flop, with David "Bakes" Baker and a third player trying to notch the elimination.

The board of {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{j-Clubs} was checked down through the turn, but Baker bet the {3-Clubs} on the river. This forced his opponent to fold, and Bakes immediately announced "ace-queen" while tabling his {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} for top pair. The all-in player could only table a second-best {A-Clubs}{2-Hearts}, and he hit the rail just short of the money.

Danny Le Wins One

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

Rep Porter raised from under the gun, Hal Lubarsky called from the cutoff, and Danny Le did the same from the small blind.

On the {5-Clubs}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop, Porter led out for a bet, Lubarsky called, and Le made it two bets. Both Porter and Lubarsky called the raise, and the turn came {5-Hearts}.

Porter checked, as did Lubarsky, and both folded when Le fired out a second barrel.

Ronnie Bardah's Title Defense Was Cut Short Here on Day 2
Ronnie Bardah's Title Defense Was Cut Short Here on Day 2

While Ronnie Bardah made a valiant effort to defend his title here at the $2,500 Limit Hold'em Six-Handed event, his run came to an end recently.

Already short stacked following a previous hand, Bardah got his last few bets into the middle with {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}, and he was ahead of the {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} tabled by his opponent.

Flop: {8-Clubs}{q-Spades}{6-Clubs}

Bardah found a pair on the flop, but his opponent was now drawing to a pair of overcards, as well as a gutshot straight draw.

Turn: {7-Diamonds}

With that, Bardah was left drawing dead, and his title defense came to an end.
