Ashton Takes Some Off Gorodinsky

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Omaha-8

Matthew Ashton and Mike Gorodinsky were involved on the {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop. Ashton checked, and Gorodinsky bet. Ashton made the call. On the {A-Hearts} turn that paired the board, the same action happened with Ashton check-calling a bet from Gorodinsky. Both players then checked the {4-Spades} river card.

Ashton showed the {Q-Spades}{8-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts} for an eight-four low and two pair, aces and fours. Gorodinsky mucked his hand, and Ashton won the pot.

Lee Checks Back with Nut Straight

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Omaha-8

From the hijack seat, Kristopher Tong raised. Mack Lee reraised from the cutoff seat, and Tong made the call.

The flop came down {9-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}, and Tong check-called a bet from Lee to see the {A-Spades} land on the turn. Tong led with a bet, and Lee made the call. Then on the river, Tong checked, and Lee checked behind.

Tong showed the {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}, and Lee showed the {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{7-Spades}{5-Diamonds}. Both players held the same low, but Lee's seven-high straight won him the high.

After the hand, there was some chatter about how Lee checked behind on the river with the nut straight, but Lee admitted that he didn't know he actually had a straight.

Julie Schneider Eliminated in 8th Place ($19,952)

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante
Julie Schneider
Julie Schneider

Omaha-8

Julie Schneider was down to her last 9,000, and that went in from the big blind. Matthew Ashton put in a raise, and Kristopher Tong put out two bets. It got back around to Ashton, and he made the call. The flop came down {6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}, and Ashton checked to Tong, who fired out. Ashton threw out a check raise, and Tong came along to see the {k-Hearts} hit the turn. Ashton led out, and Tong once again called. The river brought the {j-Spades}, and Ashton threw one more bet out. Tong reluctantly folded, and Ashton tabled {5-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{10-Hearts} for a full house.

Schneider was drawing very thin, but she could still win the pot. She sweated her cards one at at time. First card: {q-Diamonds}. Second card: {8-Clubs}. Schneider was now drawing virtually dead, and the {9-Diamonds} she revealed for her third card confirmed that.

Schneider will take home just under $20,000 for her efforts, while Ashton is back up to 360,000.

Ahmed Back Out in Front

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante

Omaha-8

From the hijack seat, Owais Ahmed raised. George Danzer called from the small blind, and Kristopher Tong called from the big blind. On the {K-Spades}{10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} flop, Danzer checked, and Tong fired a bet. Ahmed made the call as did Danzer.

The {10-Clubs} then paired the board on the turn, and action checked to Ahmed. He bet and both of his opponents folded.

With this pot, Ahmed moved back into the chip lead.

Schneider Left Very, Very Short

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante

Omaha-8

From middle position, Julie Schneider raised. George Fotiadis called from the hijack seat, Matthew Ashton called on the button, and George Danzer called from the big blind.

The flop was {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}, and action checked around to Ashton in last position. He fired a bet, and Danzer folded. Schneider took some time, then folded, and Fotiadis followed her into the muck. With that fold, Schneider left herself with just 9,000 in chips.

Gorodinsky Flops a Straight Against Tong

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante

Omaha-8

From early position, Kristopher Tong raised. Mike Gorodinsky called from the big blind, and the dealer spread out the {10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{7-Hearts} flop. Gorodinsky led, Tong called, and the turn was the {5-Diamonds}. Gorodinsky fired again, and Tong made the call. The river was the {K-Clubs}, and Gorodinsky bet out for a third time. Tong made the call.

Gorodinsky showed the {K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{10-Spades}{8-Hearts} for a flopped jack-high straight. Tong mucked, and Gorodinsky was pushed the pot.

Leary was just drawing to a high, and when Tong caught a third ace on sixth street, Leary was drawing dead.

Fotiadis and Tong Chop Up the Pot

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante

Stud-8

George Fotiadis({x-}{x-} / {A-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} / ({x-})
George Danzer({x-}{x-}) / {5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}fold
Kristopher Tong({x-}{x-} / {6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{K-Spades} / ({x-})
Dustin Leary({x-}{x-}) / {8-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}fold

George Danzer brought in with his {5-Spades} showing before Kristopher Tong, Dustin Leary and George Fotiadis all called the bring-in. Then on fourth street, Fotiadis bet with his ace-six high, and both Danzer and Tong made the call.

On fifth street, Fotiadis fired again with the best hand showing. Danzer folded, but Tong called. Then on sixth street, Fotiadis bet, and Tong called. On seventh street, Fotiadis checked, Tong bet, and Fotiadis called.

Fotiadis showed the {7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} from the hole for a seven-six low. Tong showed the {K-Hearts}{2-Spades}{2-Clubs} for two pair, kings and deuces. Fotiadis and Tong chopped up the pot.

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante

Stud-8

Mike Gorodinsky just made eights full of fours to scoop a fairly large pot against George Danzer. Judging by the conversation after the hand was over, Danzer started with rolled up aces, but ended up losing the pot from there. He dropped back under 300,000 while Gorodinsky moved to 575,000.
