We were wondering if the husband and wife combo of Tom and Julie Schneider would end up at the same table, and sure enough, after Julie's table was broken, she sat down at the three seat at Tom's table. Right now Julie has her hubby slightly out-chipped, and we'll keep you updated if two clash in any pots while seated together.
We caught up with the action on fourth street, where we saw Amnon Filippi bet and Danzer call. Filippi bet again on fifth street, and this time, Danzer raised. Filippi called, and the rest of Danzer's chips got in the middle on sixth. Filippi showed for a pair of nines, and he was shocked to see Danzer reveal in the hole for trip deuces. Filippi could only catch a nine on the river to win, but he peaked at his card and sent it back to the deal, giving the hand to Danzer.
The German pro is now sitting on 72,000, while Filippi is crippled to 18,000.
Eric Wasserson was down to his last few chips on the bubble, and he survived one all in against Daniel Negreanu when he chopped in stud-8, but his luck ultimately ran out, as Kristopher Tong ended up doing him in on the bubble. Kevin MacPhee started the action with a raise, and Tong called. Wasserson committed the rest of his short stack, and MacPhee and Tong were off to the flop. Both players checked the flop, and the on the turn. When the river brought the , Tong bet, and MacPhee quickly folded.
Tong tabled for queens and fives, and Wasseron couldn't beat it, as he mucked his hand, and headed to the rail.
Opponent 1 was all in on third street, and Jeremy Ausmus and opponent 2 went heads up from there. Ausmus bet out on fourth street, and his opponent called. From there, Ausmus check called the rest of the way, and Ausmus showed in the hole for two pair. Opponent 2 showed for a six low, and both of those beat opponent 1's hand.
We got to the table after the dealer had put down a flop of . David "Bakes" Baker and Andrew Kelsall were heads up, and Baker check called a bet from Kelsall. He did the same when the hit the turn, and the on the river. Kelsall showed down , and it was good enough to take the pot down, as Baker mucked his hand.
After that pot, Baker is down to 41,800, while Kelsall is our new chip leader with 188,000.
Justin "Boosted J" Smith was short stacked when we came back from dinner, and it didn't take him long to get his chips in the middle. He was all in heads up on third street against Kristopher Tong, so the dealer was quick with dealing the cards. By seventh street, Smith had sevens and sixes, while Tong had fives and twos with an ace and a jack. Tong found a jack on seventh for a better two pair, and it was good enough to send Smith to the rail just before the money.
