The Button Is Good To Andersen

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

On the last several orbits, we have noticed a pattern of play when Danielle Andersen is on the button. The action folded to Andersen and she raised. One of the blinds made the call and the flop is dealt. The blind checked and Andersen continued. The blind folded. We would say being on the button has been good to Andersen.

With the board reading {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} on the flop, Kristen Bicknell checked, and Danielle Andersen pushed out a bet of 9,500. Bicknell check-raised to 20,000, and Andersen quickly folded.

With this pot, Bicknell has surged past the 100,000 chip mark, and now sits with 113,000 in front of her.

Sena's Move Goes Awry

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Joanne Lewis opened the action from under the gun with a raise to 3,600. Action folded around to Vanessa Sena, who made the call from the big blind.

Sena check-called the 6,500 continuation bet of Lewis on the {7-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{3-Spades} flop. Sena checked again after seeing the {4-Hearts} turn. Lewis led for 15,000 and Sena called.

After the {10-Hearts} river fell, Sena moved all in and Lewis insta-called with {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}. We didn't see Sena's hand as it went into the muck before it could be tabled.

Liv Boeree

We arrived at the table on the river to see Liv Boeree all in with {k-Spades}{9-Spades} against Anne Spinetti's {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}. The board missed both players' hands, coming out {j-Spades}{7-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}. Spinetti won the hand with her ace, and Liv Boeree busted out of the tournament.

Gjaltema Doubles Up

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Kristen Bicknell raised to 4,000 from the button, and was then faced with a large all-in reraise from Lisa Gjaltema in the small blind. After thinking for a minute, Bicknell called, tabling {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}. Gjaltema showed {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}. The board ran out {6-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades}, offering Bicknell no help, and Gjaltema doubled up on the hand.

Andersen Eliminated

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

We came up as Danielle Andersen was being escorted to the pay out desk. We saw the {7-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{8-Spades}{q-}{4-} board and the winning hand of Helen Wang which was {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}. When asked what Andersen had, we were told {q-}{10-}.
