Sekularac's Tank

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

In one of the last hands before the break, there was 225,000 in the pot and a board reading {10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{5-Clubs} when Ognjen Sekularac bet 100,000 from the big blind and Dani Stern called from the button. When the {9-Hearts} completed the board on the river, Sekularac checked and Stern moved all in.

Sekularac, who had 401,000 behind, tanked for nearly six minutes. "I was gonna shove myself," he finally said. "So sick, man." Eventually Sekularac folded and Stern won the pot.

Do or Do Not, There is No Try

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

After folding to a shove from Richard Lyndaker on a board of {10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} - Lyndaker showed {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts} - Rachid "SkaiWalkurrr" Ben Cherif opened for a raise in middle position. Igor Kurganov three-bet him on his direct left, and the action folded back to Ben Cherif, who moved all in. Kurganov snap-called.

Ben Cherif: {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}
Kurganov: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

Kurganov held as the board rolled out {8-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{8-Spades}, and Ben Cherif was eliminated short of the money. Kurganov now has 910,000 chips.

Counts from Tables 346 & 347

Chidwick Continues to Roll

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Action folded to a short-stacked Matt Russell on the button and he moved all in for approximately 110,000. Chip leader Stephen Chidwick called from the big blind and Russell was in dire straits.

Russell: {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Chidwick: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}

Chidwick was well out in front and stayed there on the {2-Spades}{k-Clubs}{q-Hearts} flop. The {6-Hearts} turn made things interesting by giving Russell a flush draw, but he'd miss it when the {8-Clubs} appeared on the river.

Meyers Enters the Danger Zone

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Brandon Meyers, who was the first player to amass over one million chips, now has less than 20 big blinds.

We found him and Kevin Eyster heads up on a flop of {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. Meyers checked, Eyster fired out a bet of what looked like 18,000, and Meyers check-raised to 60,000. Eyster tank-called.

The turn was the {8-Spades}, and Meyers moved all in for effectively 186,000. Eyster snap-called, showing {q-Spades}{j-Diamonds} for the nuts.

"Sick," we heard Meyers say, as he showed {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for a lesser straight.

Meyers could still win the hand with a queen on the river, but the {6-Spades} bricked off, and Eyster doubled. Meyers, as stated earlier in this post, is down below 20 big blinds.

Big Double for Sekularac

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Ognjen Sekularac
Ognjen Sekularac

Ognjen Sekularac led out for 24,000 on a flop of {4-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{j-Hearts}. Kevin Eyster raised to 66,000, Brandon Meyers folded, and Sekularac called.

The turn was the {7-Spades}, Sekularac checked, and Eyster fired out 75,000. Sekularac moved all in for 271,000, and Eyster quickly called.

Sekularac: {a-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}
Eyster: {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

Only a jack would eliminate Sekularac, and he dodged the two-outer as the {3-Spades} completed the river.
