Kings Again for Johnston

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

When you run hot you run hot, as Jeff Johnston can attest to. Shortly after finding pocket kings in the hole when his opponent four-bet jammed with {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}, Johnston found kings again when an opponent moved all in for 60,000 with what turned out to be {A-Hearts}{j-Hearts}.

Johnston's kings stayed good on the {2-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{j-Spades}{7-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} board and Johnston climbed to 780,000!

Oops!

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Jeff Johnston is our new chip leader after receiving a gift from Brad Grimmett.

Grimmett opened from late position, Johnston three-bet from the big blind. Grimmett then four-bet shoved for over 200,000 and Johnston beat him into the pot. Johnston turned over {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} and Grimmett the monster that is........{8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}!

The kings held up as the board ran out {4-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{6-Spades} sending Grimmett home and Johnston to the top of the counts.

Kitty Busts Another

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Kitty Kuo opened to 18,000 from middle position and faced a raise from the cutoff of 22,000 in total. Kuo tossed in the extra 4,000 chips to make the call.

Kuo: {10-Spades}{8-Spades}
Cutoff: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

The ace-queen stayed ahead on the {J-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop, but fell behind on the {8-Clubs} turn. It stayed second best as the {9-Diamonds} showed up on the river.

Pecheux Doubled

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Erwann Pecheux is back up to 163,000 after doubling up moments ago.

The cutoff opened and then called when Pecheux moved all in for 75,000 from the big blind. The cutoff held {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs} to Pecheux's pocket nines and although there was a six on the flop, the cutoff couldn't find another of his cards on the [2ctd6hd3s] board and Pecheux doubled.

Vamplew Wins a Monster Pot

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
David Vamplew
David Vamplew

We joined the action on a {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} flop where David Vamplew bet 18,000 from the small blind. Inigo Rodriguez was in the big blind and he raised to 42,000. Vamplew called.

The turn brought the {2-Spades} into play and Vamplew checked its arrival. Rodriguez bet 76,000 and Vamplew called. The fifth and final community card was the {A-Spades} and Vamplew checked again. Rodriguez couldn't fire a third barrel and he checked behind.

Vamplew turned over {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} and scooped the huge pot.

"What? Again?" said one of Vamplew's table mates, suggesting the young Brit has already had a big pair in a similar spot. Vamplew is now up to 430,000 chips.
