Korik Attacks, O'Dwyer Out

Level 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

In a reraised pot we saw Steve O'Dwyer bet out 1,400 on {2-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} from the big blind. Zachary Korik in the hijack position made the call. The dealer burned, and turned the {K-Diamonds} and now things got really big. O'Dwyer bet out 3,200 and within twenty seconds Korik moved all in. Steve O'Dwyer called instantly.

Steve O'Dwyer{Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}
Zachary Korik{A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}

The dealer didn't make a show out of it and quickly put a river down on the table: {5-Diamonds}. Korik made his flush and had 10,675 behind. O'Dwyer had just 10,250 and was thus eliminated.

Some of these players just sat down, others are here for awhile now but we just found them.

Mortensen Won't Fold Queens

Level 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

We picked up the action on a {6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{9-Spades} | {10-Clubs} board and the big blind checked to Carlos Mortensen. The Spanish 2011 World Series of Poker Main Event champion bet out 600. His opponent made it 1,800 and Mortensen made the call. The river was the {7-Hearts} and the big blind now bet out 2,500. Mortensen muted his music and gave it some deep thoughts. A minute or two passed but eventually Mortensen tossed in two yellow one thousand chips and a purple five hundred to make the call.

Mortensen was welcomed with a double check of the cards by the big blind. At first he wanted to muck it seemed, but in the end the big blind opened {K-Spades}{7-Spades}. Mortensen showed {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} and took down the sizable pot.

Olivier Busquet: "What the F*ck?"

We picked up the action on a {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}{8-Clubs} flop as Olivier Busquet bet out 800 in, what appeared to be, a pot worth 1,650 already. Busquet was acting out of the big blind and his opponent was seated on the button. Busquet received a call and the {A-Spades} came on the turn. Both players decided to check and the {6-Clubs} fell on the river. Busquet checked to his opponent who bet 1,600. Busquet was zoned out and was looking straight ahead, almost like he wasn't totally there. Then all of the sudden he reached for chips and made it 5,600 to go. His opponent wasn't impressed it seemed and within fifteen seconds he had pushed all in.

"What the F*ck?" asked Busquet quietly but with a sincere voice. Busquet didn't ask for a count but it didn't appear to be much more than the 5,600 Busquet had already in there. Eventually we counted 9,700 total, so just 4,100 more. Busquet thought about it for about half a minute, before tossing in some green 25 chips to indicate the call.

"Good call" said the player on the button who showed {7-Spades}{10-Spades}. Busquet tabled {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for a rivered straight and grabbed the valuable chips and started stacking them.

Better Late Than Never

This is not a tournament where players are anxiously waiting in the hall way half an hour before the tournament starts. This tournament attracts a lot of seasoned pro's and relaxed amateurs. A lot of them prefer to show up just a little late. These players entered the tournament a little after the clock had started ticking:
