Kassela does it Again

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Frank Kassela
Frank Kassela

After recently doubling up, Frank Kassela opted to move all in from the cut-off, and was called by the same opponent that he tangled with earlier.

Kassela: {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

Kassela was behind, but would stay alive, as the board ran out {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} to see him spike a diamond on the river to make a flush.

Lodden Falls

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Johnny Lodden pushed all in preflop from under the gun and was called by Ludovic Lacay.

Lodden: {5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}
Lacay: {K-}{Q-}

Lodden missed the flop, and when a king landed on the turn it would be the end to his tournament as Lacay moves to roughly 80,000 in chips.

Gruissem Wins Preflop Battle

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Philipp Gruissem
Philipp Gruissem

After a raise from a player on the button, Philipp Gruissem put in a reraise to 16,000. The player in the big blind folded so action was back on the button player who put in another reraise to 34,500. Gruissem thought about it for a while, and counted out a bet, he put out 54,000.

The button player went into the tank, and while he was in the tank, the dealer discovered that Gruissem's bet was a little short, by 500 chips. Gruissem threw in the extra 500 chips and about 30 seconds later, the player on the button folded, allowing Gruissem to take the big pot without seeing a flop.

Kassela Doubles

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

The player in middle position opened to 5,600, before Frank Kassela moved all in for his remaining 6,300 in chips. He then turned over his {2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}, not realising his all-in bet was more than the original raise. His opponent made the call for the additional 700, before tabling his {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}.

Kassela took the lead, as the flop came down {7-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, and held on as the board ran out the {j-Hearts} and {k-Hearts} to see him move back up to 18,200 in chips.

Goto Doubles Through Tryba

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

The action folded around to Gustavo Goto on the button, who opened to 5,000, before he was met with a raise to 12,800 from Chris Tryba in the small blind. The big blind folded his hand, before Goto moved all in, totalling 47,200. Tryba thought about his decision for over a minute, before he made the call.

Tryba: {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Goto: {Q-Clubs}{q-Spades}

The board ran out {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades}{7-Hearts}, to see Goto receive a double up, as Tryba drops to under 20,000 in chips.

Serock Your World

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Joe Serock
Joe Serock

We caught up with Joe Serock and Eric Baldwin involved in a hand on a board of {10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{6-Spades}. Baldwin had a bet of 34,000 in front of him when Joe Serock announced that he was all in. After it was counted out, Serock had 116,100 total. Baldwin went into the tank for a good two minutes before finally counting out the chips and announcing a call.

Baldwin: {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}
Serock: {A-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

Baldwin was out in front, but Serock had a load of outs he could catch to scoop the pot. Serock stood up from his chair and gathered his things, but immediately sat back down when the {4-Hearts} hit the turn. The river was a meaningless {A-Clubs} and with that Serock got a huge double while Eric Baldwin dropped to around 60,000 chips.

Brinkmann Busts

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Torsten Brinkmann
Torsten Brinkmann

Jonathan Cohen opened to 5,000, before Torsten Brinkmann opted to move all in for his remaining chips. Cohen made the call, as both players tabled their cards.

Brinkmann: {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}
Cohen: {9-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

The board ran out {j-Spades}{k-Spades}{2-Hearts}{2-Spades}{10-Clubs}, to see Cohen spike a ten on the river, to eliminate Brinkmann from the tournament.

Berkey's Woes

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Matt Berkey
Matt Berkey

After conceding a pot with {K-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} (for a gutshot on the flop) to Mark Darner's {A-}{A-}, Matt Berkey looked to recoup some of his losses as he opened the button to 5,000.

Philipp Gruissem made the call before check-calling 7,000 on the {Q-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{8-Spades} flop before the {6-Hearts} was checked by both players.

When the river landed the {4-Clubs}, Gruissem led for 10,000 and Berkey kicked his cards to the muck while slipping to 120,000 in chips.

Laak Takes Out Bonavena

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Salvatore Bonavena committed the last of his chips in pre-flop, and was up against Phil Laak.

Bonavena: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Laak: {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

Laak held from start to finish, as the board ran out {9-Hearts}{3-Spades}{4-Hearts}{10-Spades}{j-Hearts}, to see Bonvavena hit the rail, as Laak welcomed more chips to his growing stack.

Peters Gets a Double on the Brink

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
David Peters
David Peters

After raise and a call preflop, David Peters and Torsten Brinkmann headed to the flop.

The dealer spread the {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} board and Brinkmann checked to Peters who fired out 5,200. After a few second Brinkmann announced that he was all in and Peters snap called.

Peters: {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}
Brinkmann: {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

Peters was ahead at the moment with a pair of aces, but Brinkmann had a huge draw to a straight, flush, and straight flush. Fortunately Peter's had one flush blocker and it matter when the turn came the {6-Clubs} and river came the {3-Clubs} for two bricks. With that Peter's doubles while Brinkmann sled to about 25,000 chips.
