Esfandiari Check-Jams

Level 10 : 400/800, 100 ante

Antonio Esfandiari checked the turn with the board reading {q-Spades}{k-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. His opponent in the cutoff fired 3,200, and Esfandiari tossed three black T100 chips out and announced all in. The cutoff folded after some thought.

Liu Overflushes One

Level 9 : 300/600, 75 ante

In one of the last hands before break, we found Ping Liu in the aftermath of an all in with the board reading {4-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{6-Spades}. Liu had the {j-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} in front of him for a flopped flush, while his opponent had {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a lower flush.

The dealer counted out the stacks, and Liu had his opponent covered. He's now up to 36,100, courtesy of the hand known in some circles as "the Zatch."

Boeree, Tran Spar; Owen Busts

Level 9 : 300/600, 75 ante

Henry Tran raised to 1,275 from early position, and Liv Boeree reraised to 2,700 from the hijack. Everyone folded to Tran, who made the call.

"I check to you, because you're a nice lady," he said.

Boeree wasn't playing nice after the {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} flopped, as she fired 3,100. Tran thought for about a minute before sliding his hand to the dealer.

Meanwhile, Dan Owen, who finished third in the $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em tournament yesterday for more than $300,000, got all in with {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts} at another table. He was flipping against {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}, but he found no help on the {j-Spades}{k-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades} community.

Greenstein with an Early KO

Level 9 : 300/600, 75 ante

A player with a short stack moved all in from middle position, and Barry Greenstein reraised to isolate from the small blind. The big blind folded.

Greenstein: {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}
Opponent: {q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

The board ran out {k-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}, and Greenstein collected his opponent's chips.
