Exposure to the Elements

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

A player at Table 431 moved all in before the flop, and a middle-position player called and exposed his hand, though the dealer quickly covered it. The floor was called, and they ruled that his hand had to be exposed and the rest of the hand played out. He had the {a-Clubs}{2-Clubs}, and the cutoff moved all in for 18,500 on top of the first 40,000.

"Well, there goes that idea," Cliff Josephy said.

Action folded back to the caller, who called the additional 18,500.

Under the gun: {3-Hearts}{3-Spades}
Middle position: {a-Clubs}{2-Clubs}
Cutoff: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}

The flop came {9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}, giving one player a set and another a flush draw. A {2-Hearts} on the turn left the player with ace-king in awful shape, and the river was a {10-Clubs}. The player with the set tripled up, while the middle position player received the side pot and a one-round penalty.
