Lasell King Eliminated in 15th Place ($41,472)

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante
Lasell King - 15th Place
Lasell King - 15th Place

Yet another Jared Bleznick knockout to report, with Lasell King proving the victim this time.

We caught up with the hand on the flop with the board showing {J-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. That's when action between the pair saw Lasell committing the last of his chips holding {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{Q-Spades}{J-Diamonds} for top two pair and a gutshot to Broadway, while Bleznick had flopped a set of fours with {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{4-Spades}.

The turn and river brought a couple of deuces — {2-Hearts} and {2-Spades} — and Bleznick improved to a full house as King was knocked out in 15th place.

Bleznick is currently exchanging more orange (1,000) chips for pink (5,000) and green (25,000) ones, as his total has ballooned up over 3 million now.

Alaei Collects from Cousineau

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

After a Daniel Alaei raise from early position, Tony Cousineau defended his big blind with a call and the flop came all spades — {A-Spades}{4-Spades}{K-Spades}. Both players checked. The turn brought another spade, the {9-Spades}, and this time Cousineau checked, Alaei bet 60,000, Cousineau check-raised to 170,000, and Alaei called.

The river brought the {7-Clubs} and checks from both. Alaei tabled his hand — {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{2-Hearts} for a set of kings — and Cousineau mucked.

Alaei is back up over 2 million now, while Cousineau drops to less than 200,000.

Rybin Spikes an Ace

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Alexey Rybin was all in and at risk for 237,000 on a flop of {q-Spades}{2-Hearts}{8-Clubs} holding {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs}. Unfortunately for him, Tony Cousineau had him at risk with {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{j-Spades}{x-} for a set of queens. The {5-Diamonds} on the turn was a brick, but the {a-Clubs} spiked on the river to give Rybin a set.

"YES!" Rybin yelled, giving his neighbor and fellow Russian Alex Kravchenko a high-five. He then realized he may have upset Cousineau, and told him, "I'm sorry for my emotion, my friend."

Cousineau shrugged it off, then tossed chips to Rybin, who doubled to 561,000 chips. Cousineau fell to 282,000.

Strass Peels for a Discount

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Johannes Strassmann raised to 42,000 from the hijack seat, and Rory Rees Brennan three-bet the pot out of the small blind.

"One-eighty six," the dealer announced, sending Strassmann deep into the tank.

He said something about calling if it they were playing a cash game, and then he asked the dealer for the amount once more. She repeated the number 186. Tom Marchese lifted his head at this.

"How much?" he asked.

The two then worked out the math, and realized that it was 146,000, not 186,000.

"Oh," Strassmann said with an excited look on his face. "I'm calling."

He did, and the flop fell {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}{8-Hearts}. It didn't even look like Brennan had bet before Stassmann sent his cards into the muck.

"Thanks for waking up down there," Brennan joked at Marchese.

Daniel Merkus Eliminated in 16th Place ($32,691)

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante
Daniel Merkus - 16th Place
Daniel Merkus - 16th Place

Jared Bleznick raised to 55,000 from under the gun, Daniel Merkus three-bet the pot (140,000) from the cutoff, and Bleznick moved all in. Merkus quickly called for around 400,000.

Bleznick: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}{8-Spades}{4-Spades}
Merkus: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

Merkus held two suits to Bleznick's one, but Bleznick flopped Merkus dead when the dealer fanned {5-Spades}{10-Spades}{2-Spades}. The turn and river completed {9-Clubs}, {3-Spades}, giving Bleznick a straight flush for kicks and giggles, and Merkus was eliminated in 16th place.

"Steel wheel," Bleznick said, grinning. "That's how good a poker player I am. He has two suits, I have one, and I make a straight flush."

Philippe Clerc Eliminated in 17th Place ($32,691)

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante
Philippe Clerc - 17th Place
Philippe Clerc - 17th Place

Shortly after Jonathan Duhamel's elimination, Philippe Clerc was all in with his short stack with {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades}{8-Clubs} and looking for a double versus Oleksii Kovalchuk who held {A-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{2-Spades}.

Alas for Clerc, the flop came {J-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{4-Clubs}, immediately providing a flush for Kovalchuk, and by the {7-Hearts} turn Clerc's 17th-place finish had already been determined.

Jonathan Duhamel Eliminated in 18th Place ($32,691)

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante
Jonathan Duhamel - 18th Place
Jonathan Duhamel - 18th Place

Jared Bleznick raised to 35,000 from middle position, then Jonathan Duhamel reraised all in for about 90,000 total behind him. Those in between stepped aside, and Bleznick called the reraise without much hesitation.

Bleznick: {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{3-Spades}
Duhamel: {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades}

The flop came badly for Duhamel, rolling out {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} to give Bleznick a queen-high straight. The {9-Diamonds} then fell on the turn, which left Duhamel needing another nine to appear or a king to survive. But the river was the {10-Diamonds}, and the 2010 WSOP Main Event champion was sent railward in 18th place.

Big Double for Cousineau

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Five players took a flop of {k-Spades}{10-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}, including Tony Cousineau who bet 85,000, and Alexey Rybin, his only caller.

The turn was the {k-Diamonds}, the rest of the money went in after unknown action (Jonathan Duhamel had just called a river bet in the previous hand posted).

Cousineau: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{j-Spades}{10-Spades}
Rybin: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

Rybin had trip kings and a diamond draw, but Cousineau had turned a full house. Rybin could still score a knockout with a queen on the river, and the two could chop with an ace, but the {8-Diamonds} bricked off.

Cousineau doubled to 680,000 chips, while Rybin slipped to 280,000.
