Larry Wright

Bracelet Winner Larry Wright has been off to a great start in that Main Event. A couple recent hands exemplify his tournament so far.

In the first, Wright faced a preflop raise and three-bet to 1,625. The initial raiser called, and the flop fell {6-Hearts}{3-Spades}{6-Spades}. Action checked to Wright, who bet 750. His opponent folded, and Wright took the pot.

In the next hand, Wright opened the preflop action with a raise to 450, and drew two callers. The dealer spread {4-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{10-Spades} for the flop, and Wright continued for 750. One opponent called, but the other folded, and the remaining players saw the turn heads up. It was the {9-Spades}, and Wright slowed down. After he checked, his opponent bet 2,000, and Wright called. The river brought the {4-Spades}, and Wright checked again. His opponent now bet 6,000, and Wright announced a call, showing {q-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for trips. The other player angrily slammed his cards down as he mucked, and Wright took the pot. He’s now up to 75,000 in chips.
