River Ace Saves Kimura

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Kima Kimura opened with a raise to 16,000 from middle position, then Glen Rose reraised to 30,000 from a seat over in the hijack. It folded back around to Kimura who sat for a short while, then pushed all in for the rest of her chips.

The reraise-shove added up to 172,000 total, and Rose considered for over two minutes before finally making the call.

Rose turned over {J-Spades}{J-Hearts} and Kimura {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}, and just as Rose wished Kimura good luck, the dealer burned a card and slid the three flop cards out with the {J-Diamonds} appearing right on top and the {Q-Clubs} and {5-Clubs} underneath.

At that Kimura stood from her chair as the {4-Clubs} came out on the turn. The dealer then delivered the river… the {A-Clubs}! Kimura quickly sat back down as the table reacted to the ace from space to save Kimura, and the pot was pushed her way.
