Busquet Flushed with Chips

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

With the board reading {7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and roughly 2,500 in the middle Olivier Busquet bet out 1,500 following a check from his opponent.

Busquet's opponent took close to a minute before calling as the {K-Spades} rolled off on the river and he checked once again.

Very deliberately, Busquet took four yellow 1,000-denomination chips and dropped them just ahead of his cards to signify a bet of 4,000.

It would take nearly three minutes before Busquet's opponent came to a decision - one which was a call. Busquet tabled his {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} for a flush and scooped the pot to move to just under 55,000 in chips.

Gal Erlichman Rides the Rockets to the Top of the Leaderboard

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante
Soi Nguyen Tried to Get a Little Too Slick With His Suited Big Slick
Soi Nguyen Tried to Get a Little Too Slick With His Suited Big Slick

We passed by the table where T.J. Cloutier and Mike Matusow are now sitting, and overheard Cloutier laughing a bit about a previous hand.

"He only played every hand for two hours...," said Cloutier in his famous Southern drawl. "Of course he gets 250 big blinds in before the flop and busts."

With Gal Erlichman quietly stacking a tower of orange T5000 tournament chips a few seats over, and adding them to an already expansive chip castle, it soon became apparent that Erlichman had stacked an unfortunate player, and the victim turned out to be 2010 November Niner Soi Nguyen.

According to Erlichman, the action started when a player opened for 500, and two others flatted the raise. Erlichman woke up with {A-}{a-}, and three-bet to 2,300.

This pressure folded the original raiser, but Nguyen four-bet to 9,300. When the action folded back to him, Erlichman jammed for the rest of his stack, and Nguyen called off with the {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}.

Despite finding a premium hand, Nguyen was utterly dominated by Erlichman's rockets, and when the flop brought the case ace to the board, Nguyen's Main Event came to an abrupt end.

Trips for Bonomo

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

On a flop of {9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}, Justin Bonomo bet 1,700 from the big blind position. His opponent called from the button, and the dealer turned the {a-Hearts}. Bonomo check-called a bet of 2,700, and the {9-Spades} completed the board on the river. Bonomo check-called again, this time for 4,800, and showed {9-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for trips. His opponent mucked, and Bonomo took the pot, bringing his stack up to 36,000.

Off to the Wright Start

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante
Larry Wright
Larry Wright

Bracelet Winner Larry Wright has been off to a great start in that Main Event. A couple recent hands exemplify his tournament so far.

In the first, Wright faced a preflop raise and three-bet to 1,625. The initial raiser called, and the flop fell {6-Hearts}{3-Spades}{6-Spades}. Action checked to Wright, who bet 750. His opponent folded, and Wright took the pot.

In the next hand, Wright opened the preflop action with a raise to 450, and drew two callers. The dealer spread {4-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{10-Spades} for the flop, and Wright continued for 750. One opponent called, but the other folded, and the remaining players saw the turn heads up. It was the {9-Spades}, and Wright slowed down. After he checked, his opponent bet 2,000, and Wright called. The river brought the {4-Spades}, and Wright checked again. His opponent now bet 6,000, and Wright announced a call, showing {q-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for trips. The other player angrily slammed his cards down as he mucked, and Wright took the pot. He’s now up to 75,000 in chips.

Barausova Doubles Dombroski

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

John Dombroski fired out a bet of 2,000 on a flop of {2-Clubs}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs}. Tatiana Barausova fired out four T5,000 chips, moving all in for effectively 17,300, and Dombroski quickly called.

Barausova: {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Dombroski: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

The kings held as the turn and river bricked {5-Spades}, {q-Hearts} respectively, and Dombroski doubled. Barausova slipped to 14,900.

Bonyadi Rivered

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Following an early position raise to 525, Farzad Bonyadi called to see a {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} flop spread. Both players checked, and when the {7-Clubs} landed on the turn Bonyadi bet out 775 after it was checked to him.

The preflop raiser called and then checked the {K-Clubs} on the river as Bonyadi tossed in 1,600.

"Call!" bellowed Bonyadi's opponent instantly as the 1,600-chip bet touched the felt.

Bonyadi sat there not moving as his opponent stated call once again.

Bonyadi finally looked up and the dealer confirmed it was a call.

"You have to put chips into the middle. I can't hear you. I'm listening to music. Next time put chips in, that's how you do it!" added Bonyadi as he tabled his {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}.

His opponent tabled his {K-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} for a rivered two pair and apologized to Bonyadi.

LeFrancois Loses to Ace-High

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

With the board reading {5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{J-Clubs} and roughly 4,000 in the middle, we found WSOP bracelet winner Pascal LeFrancois betting out 2,200.

His opponent went into the tank for a minute before making the call as the {J-Spades} completed the board and both players checked.

LeFrancois sheepishly rolled over his {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades} for king-high while his opponent tabled his {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} as LeFrancois slipped to 12,000 in chips.

Nick Maimone Flops the Top

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante
Nick Maimone (Seen Here Playing in Event #52)
Nick Maimone (Seen Here Playing in Event #52)

On the {k-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} flop, Nick Maimone called a bet of 700, and he did the same when his opponent bet 1,500 on the {8-Spades} turn.

When the {2-Spades} arrived to complete the board on the river, Maimone once again flatted a bet, this time for 2,500.

Maimone tabled the {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} for top pair on the flop, and that was good enough to best the {A-Spades}{J-Clubs} three-barrel bluff.
