Lehr Exits

Level 3 : 150/300, 0 ante

We approached just as Lehr was getting up to leave the table. The board read {6-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{2-Spades}{3-Spades} and Jimmy Tran's {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} was showing as the winning hand. When asked what Lehr had, a player at the table responded with {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}. Another player at the table said, "at least now we can play poker", in reference to the fact that Lehr had been playing aggressively.

Small One for Yang

Level 3 : 150/300, 0 ante

Action folded to Jerry Yang in the hijack and he raised to 750. The button called, the blinds folded and it was heads-up action to the flop, which came down the {10-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. Yang was first to act and fired out a single yellow T1,000 chip, and it was enough to get the job done as his opponent on the button folded.

It wasn't much of a hand but it gave us a good excuse to update you on the 2007 WSOP Main Event champ.

Green and Yellow

Level 3 : 150/300, 0 ante

Here are some counts from the green and yellow sections of the Pavilion room:

Terry Gets There

Level 3 : 150/300, 0 ante

The {9-Spades}{2-Spades}{a-Clubs} flop and the {4-Clubs} turn was already dealt and Sam Farha had 1,200 in front of him. The player on the button raised to 3,600 and Todd Terry called from early position as did Farha. All three players checked the {j-Spades} river and Terry turned over {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs} for a rivered set.

Trickett Lets It Go

Level 3 : 150/300, 0 ante
Sam Trickett
Sam Trickett

Sam Trickett opened to 600 from middle position, and was called by both players in the blinds. The flop came down {2-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts}, and the action was checked to Trickett, who threw out a continuation bet of 1,050. The player in the small blind bumped it up to 3,100, as the big blind got out of the way. Trickett looked over at his opponent stack, and after thinking about his decision, opted to release his hand.

Farha Stacks Morneau

Level 3 : 150/300, 0 ante

Both Sam Farha and Joe Morneau committed 2,500 each preflop along with a third unknown player as the flop landed {J-Spades}{10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and Morneau tossed in 2,500.

Only Farha called as the turn landed the {9-Diamonds} and Morneau found himself all in for roughly his last 6,000 with Farha coming along.

Morneau: {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}
Farha: {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}

With Morneau drawing dead to just an ace, the river landed the {3-Diamonds} to send him to the rail as Farha moved to roughly 40,000 in chips.

Set of Sixes No Good for Chan

Level 3 : 150/300, 0 ante
Johnny Chan
Johnny Chan

Johnny Chan, who won the Main Event in back-to-back years (1987 and 1988) and nearly won it a third year in a row, finishing runner-up to Phil Hellmuth in 1989, tossed out a bet of 3,550 on a flop of {6-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{k-Spades}. His opponent, Jean-Jacques Philippe, moved all in for 24,675, and Chan went deep into the tank.

Finally, after two minutes or so, he called, prompting the Frenchman to flip over {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} for a set of kings. Chan shook his head, and turned over {6-Spades}{6-Hearts} for a set of sixes.

The turn and river bricked {10-Clubs}, {3-Hearts} respectively, and Philippe doubled to over 50,000 chips, while Chan fell to jusr 14,750.
