Stout Wins Battle of the Jacks

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Joseph Curcio opened to 12,000 from the lo-jack only to have Matt Stout three-bet the hi-jack to 28,000. Curcio deliberated for a few moments before making the call as the dealer fanned out a {9-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop.

Curcio checked and Stout continued for 28,000 which was enough to prompt a fold from Curcio and see him awarded the pot to move his stack upwards of 250,000 in chips.

Jennings Sends Chada Out

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

We found Peter Jennings and Vishnu Chada all in on a flop of {10-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{5-Clubs}, with Jennings covering.

Jennings: {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}
Chada: {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

Chada needed immediate help to even have a hope of taking the pot, and the {7-Diamonds} was a brick. A meaningless {k-Hearts} hit the river, and Chada was finished.

Malherbe Takes One From Phan

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Loi Phan opened from the hijack seat for 12,000 only to be reraised to 27,000 from Jean-Yves Malherbe. Action folded back to Phan who made the call.

The flop came down {3-Spades}{10-Spades}{A-Hearts} and Phan checked. Malherbe put out a bet of 22,000. Action was back on Phan and he opted to check-raise to a total of 50,000. After about 10 seconds, Malherbe reraised to 90,000 and after just a few seconds more Phan folded.

Malherbe is now over 1,000,000 chips after collecting that pot.

Mueller Takes One Out

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Greg Mueller
Greg Mueller

The hand started with Jason Cohen opening to 18,000 from under the gun plus one. Alvaro Aspas was in middle position, and moved all in for his last 87,000 in chips. The action folded around to Greg Mueller on the small blind, who made the call.

With the decision back on Cohen, he tanked for over a minute, before finally releasing his hand.

Mueller: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Aspas: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{9-Spades}{q-Spades} to see Mueller knock out his opponent, moving up to 670,000 in chips.

Tran Gets Paid Off With The Nuts

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

We caught up to JC Tran in another pot going to the river on a board of {3-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}. On the river Tran led out with a bet of 70,000. Walter Treccarichi, who was on the button, tanked for just about a minute before counting out the chips and making the call. Before he could even get all the chips counted out, Tran tabled {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for the nuts, knowing that he had won the pot.

Treccarichi could only shake his head and continue counting out the chips to send over to Tran.

Griffin Busts Patel with Aces

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

From under the gun, Ashton Griffin opened to an unknown amount. Action then folded to Kunal Patel in middle position, and he reraised all in for roughly 60,000 in chips. Play folded back to Griffin, and he snapped.

Griffin showed the {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}, dominating the {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs} for Patel. The board ran out {9-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{10-Spades}, and Griffin sent Patel to the rail.

Ramirez Fills Up on Garcia

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Guilherme Garcia
Guilherme Garcia

Guilherme Garcia opened to 13,000 from early position and Senovio Ramirez made the call from the big blind to see a {6-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flop fall.

Garcia continued for 13,000 and Ramirez check-raised to 30,000 which Garcia called as the {K-Spades} landed on the turn. Ramirez checked again and Garcia fired out 10,000 only to have Ramirez check-raise again; this time making it 20,000.

Taking a few moments to deliberate, Garcia made the call as the {Q-Hearts} completed the board on the river and both players checked.

Garcia tabled his {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}, but it would be Ramirez's {A-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} that would see him win the pot to move to 225,000 as Garcia slipped to 1,250,000 in chips.
