Annette Ascends to 2.65 Million

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Annette Obrestad
Annette Obrestad

Sergio Castelluccio min-raised to 40,000 from middle position, Annette Obrestad three-bet to 110,000 from late position, and Castelluccio called to see a flop of {K-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}. Castelluccio checked, Obrestad bet 130,000, and Castelluccio called. He checked again on the {4-Diamonds} turn, and Obrestad meticulously cut out 275,00 from her stack and placed it in the pot. Castelluccio stared her down for a couple minutes before matching her bet, and suddenly there was more than a million in the pot.

The river was the {Q-Diamonds} and once again Castelluccio checked. Obrestad pushed out a stack of green T25,000 chips from her stack, totaling 500,000. Castelluccio sat in the tank for another two minutes, and this time gave it up. Obrestad now sits at 2.65 million and has climbed back into the top 10.

Heath Finds a Much-Needed Double

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Eli Heath moved all in for 151,000 in middle position, and Mikolaj Zawadzki re-shoved for around 400,000 near the button. The rest of the players folded.

Heath: {k-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Zawadzki: {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}

Zawadzki remained ahead on a flop of {q-Clubs}{3-Spades}{5-Spades}, but the {k-Hearts} turned, giving Heath a pair of kings. The {2-Clubs} completed the board, and Heath doubled through.

Livingston Busts Harb

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Adeeb Harb raised to 40,000, and Alexander Livingston made 130,000 to play. Harb responded by pushing all in for 835,000, and Livingston called. Livingston held {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}, and he was ahead of Harb's {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. The flop was {9-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{4-Clubs}, missing both players. Then the {q-Hearts} gave Livingston a set on the turn, and Harb was drawing dead. The river was a meaningless {k-Spades}, and Harb was eliminated.

Malherbe Crippled; then Eliminated

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Jean-Yves Malherbe
Jean-Yves Malherbe

The action folded around to Steven McKoy, who opened to 50,000 from the hijack. Patrick Renkers then raised it up to 120,000 from the button, before Jean-Yves Malherbe moved all in for 780,000 from the big blind. McKoy folded his hand, before Renkers snap called the bet, for 11,000 less.

Renkers: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Malherbe: {A-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

The board ran out {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} to see Renkers win the hand with his king kicker.

In the very next hand, Malherbe was all in on the small blind for 8,000. The table folded back around to him, before he tabled his {3-Hearts}{9-Spades}. Leonardo Moura was on the big blind, and he peeled the {a-Hearts}, before revealing the {a-Clubs} as well.

The pocket aces of Moura would hold, as the board ran out {7-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{8-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} to see Malherbe eliminated from the tournament.

Mann Takes Chip Lead

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Jason Mann
Jason Mann

Kenny Hsiung opened to 40,000 and was called by the cutoff before Jason Mann three-bet to 140,000. The action folded back to Hsiung and he shoved all in for just under 600,000. The cutoff folded and Mann double-fist-pump snap-called.

Hsiung: {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Mann: {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}

With Hsiung in desperate need to spike his two-outer, the {4-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop gave him backdoor outs to a straight. The turn landed the {J-Spades}, and when the river fell the {2-Clubs}, Hsiung hit the rail as Mann soared into the chip lead with 3,785,000 in chips.

Kuzmin Busts Potter

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Alexander Kuzmin opened from middle position, and Jason Potter jammed it all in for 336,000. Kuzmin called.

Kuzmin: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Potter: {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

"JPOSU" was in trouble, and the {7-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} brought no immediate help. Potter wasn't discouraged, however.

"It's going to be the ace of diamonds," he declared, as the dealer prepared to bring out the turn card.

Potter failed to call his shot, as the {8-Clubs} emerged from the deck. The river brought a {10-Spades}, finishing Potter off.
