Nakladal KOs Koss

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Jan Nakladal and Robert Koss were just now engaged in a hand that saw the pair reach fifth street with about 420,000 in the middle, the board showing {A-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{K-Hearts}, and Koss firing a bet of 200,000. At that Nakladal leaned forward to get a look at Koss's remaining chips, and asked the dealer for a count.

Subsequent talk among some of the players at the table resulted in the floor being called over to clarify that the dealer doesn't count out chips that haven't been bet yet. However, a player can look at an opponent's chips and if they aren't stacked in a way that makes it clear enough to see how much he or she has, the player can be made to restack them so that they are.

All of that discussion was somewhat academic, really, as Koss's remaining chips were easy enough to eyeball — about 275,000. Nakladal then declared he was raising all in, and Koss called without hesitation.

Nakladal flipped over {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} for a flopped set of sevens, and at the sight of Nakladal's hand, Koss mucked his cards and departed as one of the first post-dinner eliminations.

The board ran out {7-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, safe for Mader to score the elimination.

Aces for Damelian

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Catching the action on the turn with the board reading {9-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{J-Spades}{6-Clubs} we found Australian Roberto Damelian checking to chip leader Marc McLaughlin who bet out 180,000.

Damelian made the call and then checked the {10-Clubs} on the river before tabling his {A-Hearts}{A-Spades} after McLaughlin checked behind.

The Canadian mucked and slipped to 5,640,000 as Damelian climbed to 3.5 million in chips.

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

The river was the {Q-Spades}, and Gohr fired 450,000. Sichelstiel quickly called, and then he quickly mucked when Gohr turned over the {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}.

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Philip Long raised to 65,000 from middle position, Danard Petit called, and Carlos Mortensen called from the big blind. Long continued for 85,000 on the {a-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} flop. Petit folded, but Mortensen check-raised to 200,000. Long thought for a minute and then called. The turn was the {9-Clubs}, and both players checked. Hanning and Benefield Chop

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Carl Hanning opened the cutoff to 60,000 and David Benefield made the call from the big blind to see a {7-Spades}{5-Hearts}{8-Spades} flop.

Both players checked, and when the {7-Hearts} landed on the turn, Benefield tossed in 75,000 which Hanning called as the {K-Clubs} landed on the river.

Both players tapped the table and Benefield tabled his {A-Spades}{5-Clubs} as Hanning declared a chop and tabled his {A-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}.

Reed Nearing Five Million

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Aleksejs Ponakovs and Matthew Reed were heads up on a flop of {q-Clubs}{5-Spades}{3-Spades}. Both players checked.

The turn was the {4-Hearts}, Ponakovs led out for 160,000, and Reed made the call. Ponakovs slowed back down when the {10-Diamonds} completed the board, checking to Reed who fired out 375,000 Ponakovs tanked silently for over two minutes, then called.

Mandic Doubles Through Jaffe

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Jonathan Jaffe raised it up to 65,000 in middle position, and Michiel Brummelhuis called from the cutoff. Goran Mandic reraised to 215,000 from the small blind, and it folded back to Jaffe. In a matter of seconds, Jaffe reraised to 375,000, Brummelhuis folded, Mandic moved all in 860,000, and Jaffe called.

Jaffe: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}
Mandic: {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}

Jaffe was slightly ahead going to the flop, which came down {10-Hearts}{2-Spades}{7-Spades}. Jaffe kept the lead, and the turn brought the {8-Spades}. That card drew a groan from the Jaffe supports, as it gave Mandic the second nut flush draw. He could not catch an ace, king, or spade to win the hand, and the river completed that runner runner flush, {10-Spades}.

Mandic notched the double up to 1.855 million, while Jaffe drops to 3.77 million. Despite taking that big hit to his stack, Jaffe still has more then 1.5 million more than anyone at his table.
