Glantz Survives

Level 8 : 400/800, 0 ante

Matt Glantz found himself all in for his last 3,000 and three players called; one of which was Stevie Chidwick.

The {3-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} flop saw the three active players commit 800 before the {6-Clubs} on the turn was checked round. The {10-Spades} on the river saw Chidwick bet out 1,600 as his two active opponents folded.

Chidwick tabled his {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}, but when Glantz tabled his {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, he would be entitled to three-quarters as he tripled to 9,000 in chips.

Alaei Forces a Fold

Level 8 : 400/800, 0 ante

Daniel Alaei raised from early position and found two calls before the button and one from the big blind. The flop came down {K-Spades}{3-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} and the big blind checked. Alaei fired out a bet and the next player to act called. The other two folded, leaving Alaei heads up with his opponent to the turn.

The dealer put out the {J-Hearts} on the turn and Alaei led out once more. He found a fall and the {K-Diamonds} paired the board on the river. Alaei fired out one more bet and his opponent let go of his hand. Alaei picked up the pot and now has 33,600 in chips.

Hui Crippled, Mizrachi Soars

Level 7 : 400/800, 0 ante

On a flop of {J-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}, Phil Hui fired out a bet and Michael Mizrachi raised. Kevin Song called and Hui called as well to see a turn. The dealer burned and flipped over the {9-Hearts}, prompting a check from Hui. Mizrachi fired out and Song thought for about twenty seconds before releasing his hand. Hui called.

The {4-Hearts} hit the river and Hui checked for a second time. Mizrachi shot out one last bet and Hui quickly tossed his hand into the muck. With that, Hui is left with just around 4,000 in chips. Mizrachi, on the other hand, is thriving with 77,000 in chips.

Pescatori Sitting Short

Level 7 : 400/800, 0 ante

Five players committed 800 preflop to see a {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop with the first limper betting 800 and only Max Pescatori making the call.

The turn landed the {9-Hearts} and Pescatori was now faced with a 1,600-chip bet which he opted to respond to by folding.

Following the hand, Pescatori is down to just 3,400 in chips.

Chopping: The Nature of the Game

Level 7 : 400/800, 0 ante

Action folded around to the player in the cutoff who put out a raise. Justin Smith made it three bets from the small blind and it folded back to his opponent who called. The flop came down {J-Clubs}{10-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and Smith led out with a bet. His opponent raised and Smith quickly three-bet the action and found a call.

The turn was the {8-Spades} and Smith checked. His opponent led out and Smith came over the top with a check-raise. He found a call and the {7-Spades} hit the river. Smith led out and his opponent called the bet. Smith rolled over {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and his opponent tabled {Q-Clubs}{J-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for the same straight. The pot was chopped and Smith now sits with around 18,200.
