Donna Doomed

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Donna Rosenthal
Donna Rosenthal

It has been a pleasure to watch Donna Rosenthal navigate through this field, two major upsets however caused her to run out of chips entirely. Just now she three-bet shoved out of the small blind with {K-Clubs}{K-Spades} and initial raiser David Vida called with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} from the button.

The {9-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} flop saw her still ahead but provided another sweat with the flush draw, the {9-Clubs} turn changed nothing but the {A-Clubs} river sent Rosenthal to the rail. "They got me twice on the river. That's poker. I could have taken it all," she said before heading to the payout desk.

Luck Springs Eternal

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Charles “Chuck” Gassner open shoved his last 21,000 and got a call. “Do we flip ‘em up now?” he asked the dealer. Once the count was done he was given the nod and showed {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. He had to beat the {a-Hearts}{7-Spades} of his opponent.

The cards ran out {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{2-Spades}{8-Hearts}. As the last card fell Chuck clapped his hands and cried “Straight.”

“Amazing.” said another player.

“Luck springs eternal.” grinned Chuck.

“Don’t you mean hope?” came the reply.

Teichert To The Payout Desk

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Nikolaus Teichert moved all in with {A-}{2-} and Dan Heimiller called on the button with {A-}{K-}. The board gave no hit for either player and the kicker played, sending the WSOP bracelet winner to the rail. He is now going to check out on the other German deep runners in the 3k 6max and the Triple Draw.
