Mackoff and MacPhee

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

We found Canadian online grinder Jonas Mackoff sitting immediately to Antonio Esfandiari's left, and he has some chips to put pressure on "The Magician." Kevin MacPhee is also sitting on a little more than double the starting stack.

Belmont Stakes Steals the Attention

Level 4 : 75/150, 0 ante

The most excitement this tournament room has seen all day was just the running of the Belmont Stakes as it was shown on screens throughout the room. Poker players yelled and cheered and stood to their feet as they watched California Chrome fall short of winning a Triple Crown, and Tonalist crossed the finish line first. Now back to the cards.

Breaking it Down

Level 4 : 75/150, 0 ante

The Pavilion Room is starting to clear out as tables break down and the field slims. As more players bust out in early stages of today, here are a few stack updates.

Selbst is Busto

Her run was a short one. Where there was once a Vanessa Selbst, there is now only an empty chair.

A Ton of Outs and He Gets There

Level 4 : 75/150, 0 ante

We walked up to a board of {7-Clubs}{k-}{8-Clubs} and Jeff Sluzinski and his heads-up opponent had it all in the middle. Sluzinski's opponent had turned over a pair of kings for top set, but Sluzinski had flopped "the world" and tabled {9-Clubs}{10-Clubs}.

It wasn't the nuts, but Sluzinski did catch the {j-Hearts} on the turn for the straight and the board ran out clean to eliminate his opponent.
