Vlad Sweats It Out

Level 4 : 75/150, 0 ante

Vladislav Mezheritsky decided to call a 300-chip bet from early position in the small blind after Byron Kaverman flatted on the button.

The big blind came along for the ride and they went four-handed to a {7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop. Mezheritsky checked and the pre-flop aggressor dropped out an 875-chip bet. Kaverman flatted again, but Mezheritsky had other ideas, shipping it in for 4,500.

The early position raiser folded his hand, but Kaverman thought long and hard on this one, taking a full three minutes in the tank and really making Mezheritsky sweat it out.

Finally, with little fanfare, he folded.

Level 4 : 75/150, 0 ante

Some scary news coming from the hallway just outside the tournament area as it appears actor and poker player James Woods required some medical attention.

One witness saw Woods being attended to by Emergency Medical Technicians, who were giving him oxygen as he pointed to his chest.

The EMTs have now taken Woods from the building.

Hamilton, Cada Ousted in One Hand

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante
Joe Cada busted out with KK.
Joe Cada busted out with KK.

After a flop of {4-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{7-Spades}, former Main Event winner Joe Cada, Lisa Hamilton, and Jeremy Gold got it all in.

Gold: {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}
Hamilton: {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}
Cada: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

Gold had flopped a boat, and Hamilton was drawing nearly dead with a flush draw, while Cada needed a king. The {q-Clubs} turn and {8-Clubs} river kept Gold's hand best, and he scored a double KO over two notable players.

After the hand, Cada graciously posed for photos with Gold and one of the other players at the table before exiting the room.

Nguyen-ing

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

2010 WSOP Main Event 9th-Place Finisher Soi Nguyen is running well again here today.

He told the PokerNews Live Reporting team he's been slowly grinding it up all day and after flopping a couple of sets, finding a way to get there with a couple of flush draws, and busting a couple of players along the way, he's sitting on a relatively large stack early.

According to Jeremy Putthoff, he flopped bottom set against Antonio Esfandiari's middle pair and flush draw and held to leave Esfandiari with just one T100 chip. "The Magician" busted a short time later, and Putthoff, who recently finished third at Mid-States Poker Tour Meskwaki for $36,000, has a nice early stack.
