Sacramento King

Level 10 : 400/800, 100 ante
JC Tran
JC Tran

JC Tran, who seemingly always sports a Sacramento Kings hat, raised to 1,700 on the button. One player in the big blind called, and the pair checked on a flop of {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{j-Clubs}. The turn was the {9-Diamonds}, the two checked again, and the {k-Clubs} completed the board.

The player led out for 2,600, the 2013 November Niner called, and the player in the big blind showed {k-Spades}{10-Spades}. Tran had him out-kicked with {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}, and was awarded the pot.

Andrea Dato opened to 1,600 from under the gun, Phil Hellmuth three-bet shoved for 11,700 from the next seat over and Eddy Sabat called in the big blind. Dato re-shoved for about 40,000 effective, sending Sabat into the tank for a bit before he folded {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}.

Dato: {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}
Hellmuth: {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}

The board ran out {J-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}, safe for Dato to send Hellmuth to the rail.

Greg Merson

Greg Merson raised to 1,200 on the button, a player called out of the small blind, and Jean Gaspard put in a three-bet to 4,000 from the big blind. Merson four-bet to 9,000, the player in the small blind folded, and Gaspard called.

The flop fell {a-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{8-Clubs}, Gaspard check-called a bet of 10,600, and the turn was the {3-Hearts}. The {2-Clubs} completed the board, Gaspard led out for 15,000, and Merson quickly dropped a handful of black T100 chips in front of him, signifying a call.

Gaspard mucked, and Merson showed {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a pair of aces.

Lindgren Gutted

Level 9 : 300/600, 75 ante

There was an open to 1,500 in the cutoff, Erick Lindgren called in the small blind, and Joe Cada defended his big blind. The dealer fanned {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{5-Hearts}, Lindgren led out for 2,300, and Cada folded. The original raiser moved all in for 14,550, and Lindgren called.

Lindgren: {j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Opponent: {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

Lindgren flopped top two, but his opponent was drawing to a club flush. He also had a gut-shot straight draw, which he hit when the turn brought the {9-Spades}. Lindgren failed to fill up on the river ({6-Spades}), and his stack dropped to 24,200.
