Collins Killed Off by a Cowboy

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

Phil Collins open-shoved for 1,350 from under the gun and Jonathan Poche looked him up from the big blind to put the former November Niner at risk of elimination.

Collins flipped over {A-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and needed to avoid a king or a queen as his opponent held the {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}. The dealer got to work spreading the {7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Spades}{K-Spades} board, the king on the river sending Collins to the rail.

Ebanks Busts

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

We caught Joe Ebanks as he headed for the exits and asked him what caused his elimination from Event #26.

The World Series of Poker bracelet winner got his money in with {A-}{Q-} and ran into {A-}{A-}, which rarely ends well for the weaker hand, especially when another player claimed to have also folded {A-}{Q-}.

Ebanks is now heading to play some pot limit Omaha cash games.

Latecomers

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

Registration is still open for a few more levels and players are still trickling in.

Team PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree is having a relaxing massage as the impassive face of Stephen Chidwick at the other end of her table looks on.

Sam Trickett recently sat down and looks in the mood to play.

Ryan Riess has just been moved and brought what remains of his stack to sit to the right of Ivan "vandir4rek" Soshnikov, who won $1,048,000 back in May in a SCOOP high roller.

After seven limpers, a player from the big blind shoved all in for 3,400 and action folded to Maurice Hawkins, who isolated with an all in shove of his own and they were heads up.

Hawkins: {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Opponent: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}

Silver Shoves on his Fellow Brit

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

Max Silver checked to his fellow British-pro Tom Hall on a {7-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} board and Hall bet 1,525. Silver weighed up his options before settling on an all-in bet. Silver covered Hall by a lot of chips and Hall wasn't prepared to play for stacks and folded.

Silver is now up to 13,500 and will be hoping for a similar result that he achieved in Event #19, where he finished 13th for $23,486.

Trickett Turned Out

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

Sam Trickett didn’t last too long in this tournament. We returned to see David Brillon with a pile of chips in front of him and an empty seat where Trickett had been. Using finely honed poker reporter instincts we decided to ask Brillon what happened to Trickett and he explained how he had felted the Brit.

Trickett raised to 400 and Brillon in the small blind and the big blind flatted. The flop was {q-}{8-}{3-} with two spades. It was checked to Trickett who continued for 600 which Brillon called and the two players saw a turn card {8-}.

Brillon then check-raised all in when Trickett bet 2,200 and Trickett called. Brillon had turned a full house with {3-}{3-} and Trickett was drawing dead with {a-Spades}{k-Spades}.

Goel Takes a Big One

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

A player opened to 450, Scott Clements and another player called right behind and Apoorva Goel called from the big blind. The flop came {k-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and Goel checked. The orginal raiser bet 1,100 and Clements and Goel made the call.

The turn was the {3-Spades} and Goel and an opponent checked to Clements who bet 3,000. Goel raised all in to 7,300 and his opponent also pushed all in; Clements folded. Goel turned over {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts} for the straight and his opponent was drawing dead with {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}.
