A Good Day At The Office

Level 8 : 250/500, 50 ante

Will "The Thrill" Failla finished 11th in a $1,500 NLHE Event earlier today and then registered for this tournament. So far, the poker gods have been treating him well as he is one of the biggest stacks around.

In one hand we just saw him defend the big blind against a raise from early position for 1,000. On the {3-Clubs}{J-Spades}{8-Spades} flop, he check-called 1,500 on the {A-Clubs} turn and both then checked the {J-Diamonds} river. The opponent gave up the hand and Failla announced "king high" before turning over {K-Spades}{6-Spades}. That was good enough to rake in the pot.

Dragon Soaring Overhead

Level 8 : 250/500, 50 ante

David "The Dragon" Pham is keeping touch with the chip leaders and has 52,000 chips in front of him.

Two-time WSOP bracelet winner Pham is great to watch due to him tendency to run huge bluffs and pay an extremely wide range of starting hands. Now that he has stack of chips, he's likely to go even crazier so we will keep an eye on him.

Chattha Shove Goes Uncalled

Level 7 : 200/400, 50 ante

Sunny Chattha climbing back towards 10,000 chips following an all-in bet that went uncalled.

The big blind led for 1,600 on a {4-Spades}{8-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{3-Hearts} board, but folded after much deliberation when Chattha raised all-in for 5,800 in total.

Chattha has 16 cashes at the World Series of Poker and career winnings in excess of $800,000.

Not As Stacked Anymore

Level 7 : 200/400, 50 ante

Sean Jazayeri is still on his old table in the blue section, but he doesn't seem to be running as hot anymore. We just saw him four-bet-shove into a short stack that folded, but still he is down considerably. Same is also the case for Kristijonas Andrulis, who has been reseated as the bronze section is almost empty.

Fabrice Soulier also lost a big pot and is now below average.

Benger Buys In Late, Runs Up a Stack

Level 7 : 200/400, 50 ante

Griffin Benger took advantage of late registration and starting with a short stack didn't really put him at a disadvantage judging by the fact he's now armed with 13,000 chips.

Benger is sharing a table with Eric Baldwin, but has position on him being seated to Baldwin's left.
