Benger Banged to the Rail

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Griffin Benger three-bet all in with the {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} after Jeff Madsen opened the {K-Spades}{J-Spades}.

"All right, let's see what happens," said Madsen, as he made the call. Then after seeing Benger's small pocket pair Madsen said, "That's what I thought."

The board ran out in Madsen's favor, coming {K-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, and Benger was out the door.

Hawkins Shot Down

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Maurice Hawkins
Maurice Hawkins

We missed the elimination of Maurice Hawkins, but Canada's Steven Kerr was kind enough to inform us of some details after the fact.

As he told it, the two got it in on the river when Kerr had an ace-high straight with {k-}{j-}. He said Hawkins never showed his hand, but did say that he had two pair. Whatever he had the result is the same — Hawkins has been eliminated from the tournament.

MacPhee Doles Out the Fives

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

The preflop action escaped us, but we do know that Fabrice Touil, who finished eighth in Event #24: $5,000 Six-Handed No-Limit Hold'em a few days back, got his stack all in preflop against Kevin MacPhee.

Touil: {a-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}
MacPhee: {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}

It was a flip, but not after the flop came down {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{5-Hearts} to give MacPhee a set. The {4-Diamonds} turn left Touil in need of a six on the river to win, but it was not meant to be as the {9-Hearts} appeared instead.

Bowker Kills Two Birds with Two Ladies

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Moments before the break, Kyle Bowker, Elia Ahmadian, and Dan Shak were all in. Ahmadian held {4-}{4-}, Shak had {10-}{10-}, and Bowker had {Q-}{Q-}. Bowker flopped a set and it held from there, busting both Ahmadian and Shak before the break to move to 192,000 in chips.

Chidwick vs. Kamutzki

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Heinz Kamutzki opened the action for 3,300 only to have Stephen Chidwick three-bet all in for 33,500 from the small blind. The big got out of the way and Kamutzki made a quick call.

Kamutzki: {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}
Chidwick: {a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

Chidwick was in need of some help, and while he got a little on the {9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{8-Spades} flop, he needed more if he hoped to survive. He didn't receive it on the {5-Spades} turn, but he did on the {A-Spades} river. Chidwick got lucky to make two pair, and that left Kamutzki with just 2,500 in chips.
