Mizrachi Grows; Chidwick Shrinks

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

After one player checked the {7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop, Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi bet 6,100. Stephen Chidwick called, and the other player folded. On the turn, the {4-Spades} landed, and Mizrachi checked. Chidwick bet 16,500, but as soon as his bet hit the felt, Mizrachi jammed all in. Chidwick folded.

Kessler Gets Trapped in the Big Blind

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

We picked up the action in a four-way pot on a flop of {3-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Diamonds}. The small blind had checked to Allen Kessler, who then moved all in for 22,100 from the big. David Fhima called from the under-the-gun position, the button folded, and the small blind did the same.

"I got trapped in this hand from the big blind," Kessler admitted.

Kessler: {2-Spades}{8-Spades}
Fhima: {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

Kessler had flopped a pair and flush draw, and he needed to improve as Fhima held top pair. The {J-Clubs} turn didn't do it, and neither did the {Q-Clubs} river.

"Nothing I could do there," Kessler said before exiting the tournament area.

Meanwhile, Philipp "Philbort" Gruissem has been eliminated from the tournament.

Trickett Gives It Up

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

On a flop of {10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{8-Clubs}, Jonathan [Removed:250] checked from the small blind and Steven Silverman did the same from the big. Sam Trickett, who began the day as chip leader, then checked for the cutoff and three players saw the {A-Diamonds} turn.

Two checks put action on Trickett, and he promptly bet 6,000. [Removed:250] then sprung to life with a check-raise to 16,000, Silverman folded, and Trickett got out of the way. [Removed:250] then let Trickett turn over one of his cards, which was the {2-Spades}.

"I know," Trickett said indicating he knew the other card was also a deuce. "I had an ace with the four of hearts."

Bowker Busts Selbst in 250K Pot

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Vanessa Selbst
Vanessa Selbst

From the cutoff seat, Kyle Bowker raised to 4,500. After the player in the small blind made the call, Vanessa Selbst reraised to 16,200 out of the big blind. Bowker requested to see how many chips Selbst had behind. After doing so, Bowker announced that he was all in. The player in the small blind folded, and Selbst called to put herself at risk for around 122,000 or so.

Selbst tabled the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} and was dominating the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} for Bowker.

On the flop, Bowker took the lead when the {A-Hearts}{J-Spades}{10-Clubs} fell. The turn was the {6-Diamonds} and the river the {6-Spades}. Selbst finished second best to Bowker in the hand, and he had her covered. With that, Selbst was out the door short of the money while Bowker catapulted himself into the chip lead with 287,000.

Cousineau Doubles; Mizrachi Eliminates Chidwick

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Tony Cousineau on Day 1.
Tony Cousineau on Day 1.

Action folded around to Eric Baldwin on the button and he asked Tony Cousineau and Greg Ostrander how much they had in the small and big blind, respectively. Upon ascertaining that information, Baldwin announced that he was all in.

Cousineau squeezed out his cards and then announced that he, too, was all in. Ostrander folded from the big blind.

Baldwin: {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}
Cousineau: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}

Cousineau had woken up with the right hand at the right time, and was rewarded after the board ran out a safe {4-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{j-Clubs}.

Meanwhile, Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi had eliminated Stephen Chidwick from the same table a few minutes before. Unfortunately we missed the hand, but we do know it helped Mizrachi increase his stack to 240,000.
