Madsen with Queens Again

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Jeff Madsen raised from the button to 4,800. The player in the big blind reraised all in for about 32,000, and Madsen quickly called with the {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}. His opponent had the {A-Spades}{4-Clubs}.

The board ran out {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}, and Madsen sent the player to the rail while improving to 84,000 in chips.

Conley vs. Bowker

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Justin Conley opened for 5,300 from middle position and Kyle Bowker decided to look him up from the small blind. The big got out of the way and it was heads-up action to the {2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop.

Bowker checked, Conley bet 6,000, and Bowker called. Both players then checked the {9-Clubs} turn and Bowker led out for 17,000 on the {4-Clubs} river. Conley called and Bowker rolled over the {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} for sixes and fours. Conley then tabled the {9-Spades}{8-Spades} for nines and fours.

Arieh Wants the Whole Pot, but Only Gets Half

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Josh Arieh
Josh Arieh

At the end of the last level, from the cutoff seat, Mustapha Kanit raised to 5,000. Josh Arieh called from the button, and the player in the big blind also called.

The flop came down {10-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}, and the player in the big blind checked. Kanit bet 7,000, and Arieh called. The player in the big blind folded.

The turn was the {3-Spades} to pair the board. Kanit bet 17,300, and Arieh called to see the {Q-Hearts} land on the river. Kanit bet 27,200, and Arieh made the call after a bit of thought.

After Arieh called, Kanit flashed him the {A-Diamonds} and then dropped his hand facedown on the felt. The dealer reached out and grabbed Kanit's cards, but didn't turn them over, nor did he pull them into the muck. At this point, Arieh hadn't showed his hand, but someone else at the table piped up and said that a winning hand must be shown. Arieh asked if Kanit's hand was dead. The dealer didn't say anything, but the table repeated that a winning hand must be shown. The dealer then tabled Kanit's hand to reveal the {A-Clubs}{2-Hearts}.

Arieh requested the floor to be called and claimed that Kanit's hand should be dead because he had mucked it. The dealer didn't pull it into the muck, though, therefore it was ruled that Kanit's hand was live. Arieh wanted the entire pot, but it was ruled that he would get only half after turning over the {A-Diamonds}{8-Spades} for a chopped pot.

Battle of the Michaels

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

After a player in early position opened for 5,000, Michael Rocco called from the cutoff. Michael Mizrachi then came along from the big blind and all three players saw a flop of {a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. Mizrachi checked, the original raiser checked, and Rocco bet 12,500. Only Mizrachi called and then both players checked the {8-Clubs} turn.

When the {3-Clubs} completed the board on the river, Rocco fired out 18,500 and Mizrachi called. Rocco tabled the {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for a flopped two pair, and it was good as Mizrachi sent his cards to the muck.

Meyers Gets Lucky Against Somerville

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Brandon Meyers got his stack of 56,500 all in preflop and was in bad shape against Jason Somerville.

Meyers: {3-Clubs}{3-Spades}
Somerville: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

Meyers needed some help, and much to Somerville's dismay, he got it when the {2-Spades}{a-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop delivered him a set. Neither the {10-Spades} turn nor {7-Diamonds} river allowed Somerville to catch up and he sent a big portion of his stack over to Meyers.
