Watson On The Rail

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

Mike Watson was up to more than 40,000 after his previous triple-up, but then had to give up a pot on the flop to lose some of that accrued profit. We just walked past his Table 445 and his seat was empty. Upon asking Taylor Paur, he confirmed that Watson had been eliminated and Fabrice Soulier did so as well.

It was Andrey Kirillov, who got the chips with {A-}{A-}{x-}{x-} after Watson got it in preflop with {A-}{K-}{K-}{3-}. There was no help on a dry board and the MTT grinder was sent to the rail.

Ebanks Felted by Humphrey

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

We happened to walk by the table of Joe Ebanks and saw him all in after the {6-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{10-Spades} flop. Matthew Humphrey looked him up with {8-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and had flopped a straight with a flush draw. Ebanks was live with the {J-Spades}{K-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for the higher flush draw and a gutshot to a better straight.

It wasn't meant to be for Ebanks, however, with the {10-Hearts} turn and the {2-Hearts} river bricking for him and sending Ebanks to the rail.

Bryan Micon Eliminated by Case King

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

Bryan Micon opened for a pot-sized raise and Julio Marines reraised enough to put Micon all in. It was folded back to Micon and he made the call, saying "this is the top of my range" as he turned over {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} which was ahead of Marines's {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}.

The case king would come on the {K-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop and Micon would never catch up on the {5-Hearts} turn and {4-Hearts} river. The disappointed Micon slapped the table lightly in frustration and was off to collect his winnings.

Davies Stuns Staes

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 0 ante
Aliosha Staes
Aliosha Staes

Aliosha Staes — sporting the Belgian flag and also a wig with the very same colors as well — has just been crippled though after a four-way limped pot to the {4-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{9-Hearts} flop.

He got it in against Scott Davies and the latter was at risk for his last 27,000, showing {3-Hearts}{K-Spades}{9-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} for two pair and the flush draw. Meanwhile Staes had a better flush draw with {K-Hearts}{x-Hearts}{x-}{x-}.

Staes improved to the king-high flush after the {2-Hearts} turn, but the {9-Diamonds} river saw Davies complete a full house to win the hand.

Powidzer Triples in Huge Three-Way Pot

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

There was a raise to 2,400 from the cutoff by Devon Shalmi, the button made it 9,000, and Galen Hall repotted it to 30,600 out of the small blind. George Powidzer called all in for 16,600 in the big blind and Shalmi folded. The player on the button made the call and they saw the {J-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{8-Clubs} flop. Hall said to the dealer "I want to wager all this," pointing with his finger to the stack in front of him.

The player on the button committed the further 15,700 as well and they turned over the cards.

Powidzer: {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}{10-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Hall: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Button: {A-Spades}{J-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}

Both the {5-Spades} turn and the {5-Hearts} river changed nothing for the outcome of the hand and the Brazilian Powidzer tripled up, which was noted by the five Brazilian bloggers around him. Meanwhile Hall got out of the hand with some profit and the player on the button has been crippled.

Triple-Up For Watson

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

Taylor Paur raised to 2,500 and Mike Watson moved all in for 5,100. Two seats over, Adam Bilzerian asked for a count and then called. The blinds including Fabrice Soulier folded and Paur called as well. On the {2-Spades}{6-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop, Paur check-folded after Bilzerian bet 8,000 and the two remaining players turned over their cards.

Bilzerian: {J-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}
Watson: {5-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{7-Spades}{9-Clubs}

Bilzerian had taken the lead with two pair and improved to a straight with the {8-Hearts} turn, but the {2-Hearts} river gave Watson the king-high flush and a triple-up.
