Affleck Actively Acquiring Chips

Level 7 : 200/400, 50 ante

We picked up to the action with Matt Affleck and a heads-up opponent involved and a flopped board of {4-Spades}{3-Hearts}{7-Spades}. Both players checked to see a turn of the {9-Diamonds}. Affleck bet 4,000 and his opponent called.

The river was the {2-Diamonds} and both players checked. Affleck tabled {j-Spades}{j-Clubs} and his opponent mucked.

Benger Squeezes Pros Out of the Pot

Level 7 : 200/400, 50 ante

Jason Somerville raised to 800 from the cutoff, Noah Schwartz called on the button and Ludovic Geilich called from the small blind. Griffin Benger was in no mood for calling and he jammed all-in for around 9,000 but before we could count the bet's size, all the active players folded and Benger won the pot.

Rettenmaier Falls

Level 7 : 200/400, 50 ante

Marvin Rettenmiaer was in middle position and he bed 2,425 on the {6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades} board, putting the action on Eric Baldwin on the button. Baldwin called and the dealer put the {4-Diamonds} onto the river.

Rettenmaier sat riffling chips for 45 seconds before moving all-in only to see Baldwin snap-call.

Baldwin flipped over {J-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for a flush, which Rettenmaier couldn't beat so he mucked his hand.

Rettenmaier was left with only 750 chips and these went into the middle on the next hand with {K-Spades}{6-Hearts}, was called by {K-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and when the board ran {3-Hearts}{J-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} Rettenmaier's tournament was over.

Brutal Flop Tames Terry

Level 8 : 250/500, 50 ante

We walked up to Todd Terry contemplating his action, as Christian Jeppsson had moved all in preflop. After some consideration, Terry made the call and Jeppsson winced, sheepishly turning over {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}. Terry tabled {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} and looked to be in good shape, until he saw a king in the window and a completed flop of {k-}{2-}{k-}.

The board completed {5-}{3-} and all Terry could muster was a "so sick" as he sent almost half of his stack to Jeppsson.

Level 8 : 250/500, 50 ante

Brandon Meyers continues to crush all that dare stand before him. He is currently armed with a colossal stack of chips worth 78,500 and looks to be our chip leader.

Elezra Doubles to Stay Alive

Level 8 : 250/500, 50 ante

We walked up to a board of {j-}{4-}{9-} and Eli Elezra had raised his opponent all in for his last 3,425. His opponent would make the call and Elezra needed help for his {8-Hearts}{9-Hearts} versus the {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} of his opponent.

The help came on the {8-Clubs} turn and the river {k-} was clean for Elezra; his two pair was good for a double.

Linde Adds to Watts' Misery

Level 8 : 250/500, 50 ante

Dylan Linde raised it up to 1,200 from under the gun and Steve Watts called from the next seat along. The other players folded meaning it was heads-up to the {Q-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop. Linde made a continuation bet of 1,600 and Watts ducked out of the way.

Watts informed us that a short time before the above hand, he lost a big pot with {A-}{K-} versus {9-}{9-}, which explains why he has about half of the chips from when we last counted them.

Ace-High is Good for Musumeci

Level 8 : 250/500, 50 ante

We caught the action as Amanda Musumeci called an all-in bet with {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs} to find her up against {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}.

"At least I have two live cards," said the all-in player. "Please let me win, I've been sat with no cards all day."

Sadly for the all-in gentleman, the cards didn't listen and when the board ran out {10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{2-Spades}, his tournament was over.
