Pechie Busts to Le Marchand

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

The action folded to Justin Pechie in the small blind and he moved all in for 54,000. Stanislas Le Marchand was the big blind, and after 10 seconds or so of thinking about what to do, called.

Le Marchand: {K-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Pechie: {K-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

Neither player improved on the {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{10-Spades} flop, but both hit the {8-Diamonds} turn, Le Marchand pairing his eight and Pechie picking up a diamond flush draw. The {9-Spades} landed on the river and with that, Pechie was eliminated.

Tobias Doubles in Little Controversy

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Peter Tobias moved all in for 107,000 from early position and only put a few chips forward. The dealer threw the all in button in front of that and the action folded to Stanislas Le Marchand in the small blind. The Frenchman didn't hear the announcement - or noticed - the all in and put forward three T1000 chips to just limp, expecting to play in a battle of the blinds.

The floorman was called and it was ruled that Le Marchand had to call off the all in.

Le Marchand: {A-Clubs}{2-Hearts}
Tobias: {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}

The board ran out {K-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{J-Clubs} and Tobias doubled up.

Anthony Hallam Eliminated in 27th Place ($8,947)

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
Antony Hallam
Antony Hallam

Antony Hallam is the first casualty since the redraw. Hallam and Angela Prada-Moed were all-in, Hallam holding {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} and Prada-Moed the {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}.

The {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{J-Clubs} gave Hallam outs to a flush, but they failed to materialize when the turn and river came {10-Spades} and {8-Diamonds}.

That hand left Hallam with only 4,500 chips and 3,000 of those were needed to pay the small blind on the next hand.

Loren Klein raised from the button to 12,000, the cutoff, the button folded, Hallam called all-in and Will Givens called in the big blind.

Klein and Givens checked down the {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{4-Hearts}{K-Spades} board, Klein betting the river and Givens folding.

Klein showed {J-Hearts}{10-Spades} for a straight, and Hallam showed {9-Spades}{5-Clubs}. Game over for Hallam.

Arnaud Mattern Eliminated in 25th Place ($8,947)

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
Arnaud Mattern
Arnaud Mattern

Arnaud Mattern has crashed out of this tournament in cruel circumstances.

Jason Zelus opened to 14,000 from middle position and Mattern three-bet to 36,000. Selus sat riffling chips for 30 seconds or so before announcing he was all-in. Mattern snap-called and was the all-in player.

Zelus: {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}
Mattern: {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}

Mattern was a massive favorite to double and become a real force in this tournament, until the {4-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{10-Spades} flop came into view to completely turn the hand around. A {5-Clubs} on the turn was followed by the {6-Hearts} on the river and with that, Mattern's tournament came to an abrupt end.

Peter Tobias raised to 12,500 from late position and Bradley Craig moved all in from the big blind. Tobias thought for a moment and then called, tabling {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. Craig needed to find a match for his {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}, but the board ran out {2-}{8-}{8-}{6-}{8-} and he was sent to the rail.

Max Pescatori Eliminated in 23rd Place ($8,947)

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
Max Pescatori
Max Pescatori

Paul Sokoloff raised from the button, and one seat over, Max Pescatori moved all in for less than 15 big blinds. Sokoloff called and it was a race with the {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} for Sokoloff and the {J-Hearts}{J-Spades} for Pescatori.

The {10-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Diamonds} was no good for the Canadian and Pescatori picked up a flush draw on the {A-Spades} turn while Sokoloff now had top pair. The board completed with the {5-Hearts} river and the Italian headed to the payout desk.
