Prada-Moed Takes from Bodden

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

The start-of-the-day chip leader Jonathan Bodden is struggling early on and just lost about one third of his stack to Angela Prada-Moed. The chips only went in after the {3-Spades}{9-Spades}{K-Spades}{7-Clubs} turn following a raise and call preflop, then a continuation bet of 10,000 on the flop being called as well.

After the turn Prada-Moed was all in for 37,300 and Bodden called with {A-}{K-} to see himself drawing dead already against {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}. The meaningless {A-Spades} river completed the board and Prada-Moed now has more chips than Bodden.

Jaffrey Shulman Gets a Huge Double-Up

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Allyn Jaffrey Shulman raised from late position and got a call by Nabil Matta in the big blind. On the {J-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} flop, Matta check-raised the continuation bet of Jaffrey Shulman and the latter moved all in for 34,900 in total postflop. Matta made the call with only a few chips more.

Jaffrey Shulman: {A-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}
Matta: {5-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

Matta had both straight and flush draws, but could not get there on the {2-Hearts} turn and the {J-Spades} river and Jaffrey Shulman doubled up.

Whalen Doubles Through Berntsen

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Knut Berntsen opened to 2,400 from early position and James Whalen moved all in for 11,900 from the button. Berntsen made the call and tabled {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}. He was behind the {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} of Whalen and the flop of {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}{9-Clubs} was solid for Whalen.

The board completed {8-Spades} and then {a-Hearts}, and Whalen stayed alive.

Brousseau Falls in Battle of the Blinds

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

The action folded to Jeremy Brousseau in the small blind and he got the remainder of his stack in. Radek Hanak one seat over did so as well and they had a coinflip for their tournament life with almost identical stacks.

Brousseau: {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}
Hanak: {K-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

The board ran out {K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and the Frenchman Brousseau headed to the payout desk.

Pekarek Pushes at the Wrong Time

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

We noticed Timothy Alofs call the all-in of Jeremy Pekarek with {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and he had his opponent's {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades} dominated. Pekarek was looking for one of the two remaining fives in the deck, but the {9-Spades}{10-Hearts}{10-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} board blanked for him and gave Alofs a full house instead.

Dozier and Schumacher Done

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

It only took 10 minutes before the floodgates opened once again and among the early casualties we had Deanna Dozier and Terry Schumacher.

In the latter's elimination the Belgian raised and then called all in for 20,000 with {A-}{K-} to see Jacob Stearley turn over {K-}{Q-}. It was the inferior hand preflop, but Stearley turned the straight and sent Schumacher packing.
