Alaei Drags A Big One

Level 9

Pot-Limit Omaha

On the button, Daniel Alaei joined Alex Bilokur in calling a Calvin Anderson open of 4,500. The flop came {q-Spades}{5-Clubs}{a-Clubs} and Anderson led out for 12,000 with only Alaei making the call. The turn brought the {9-Spades} and a 27,000-chip bet from Anderson, which Alaei called.

Finally, on the {k-Hearts} river, Anderson fired 20,000 chips, but Alaei would not go away. Anderson showed {j-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts} but Alaei's {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{7-Spades} was the superior hand.
