Laying Down the Sternheimer

Level 3

Pot-Limit Omaha

With around 20,000 in the pot and a board reading {7-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{6-Spades}, Michael Mizrachi checked from the small blind and Jesse Martin did the same from the big. Philip Sternheimer then fired out a pot-sized bet, which inspired a quick fold from Mizrachi. Martin thought for about a minute but ultimately laid down his hand.

Not much there, but a good excuse for us to update you on their counts.

Mizrachi Calls Ivey

Level 3

Razz

Michael Mizrachi called a bet from Phil Ivey on sixth street in a recent razz pot.

Mizrachi: {x-}{x-}/{2-Clubs}{10-Spades}{6-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Ivey: {x-}{x-}/{5-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{8-Spades}

On the river, Ivey bet again, and Mizrachi thought for about 30 seconds before tossing out a call. Ivey showed {6-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{a-Spades} for an eight-six, and Mizrachi couldn't beat it.

Massive Three-Way Pot Shakes Up Table 369

Level 3
Mike Gorodinsky takes a big hit.
Mike Gorodinsky takes a big hit.

Pot-Limit Omaha

It took the better part of three levels, but we've finally had a hand that rocked the chip counts a bit. It happened over at Table 368 in a three-way clash between Mike Gorodinsky, Richard Ashby and Michael Glick. The betting details escaped us, but we do know action exploded on a {10-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{q-Clubs} flop that resulted in Ashby getting his last 100,000 or so in the pot, Gorodinsky a bit more than that, and Glick having both at risk.

Glick: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{a-Spades}{2-Diamonds}
Ashby: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Gorodinsky: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{5-Spades}

Ashby was out in front with top set, while Gorodinsky had middle set and a flush draw. As for Glick, he had aces with the better flush draw and a straight draw. The {J-Hearts} turn actually have Glick the lead with Broadway, but then the {2-Spades} spiked on the river!

Ashby made queens full of deuces to take down the hefty main pot, while Gorodinsky's full house earned him the paltry side pot. Both Glick and Gorodinsky lost the majority of their chips on the hand, while a smiling Ashby was all smiles.

Seiver, Song Battle With Paint in Razz

Level 3

Razz

Scott Seiver called bets on fourth and fifth before taking the betting lead and being called on sixth and seventh by Kevin Song.

Seiver: {7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{a-Clubs}/{4-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Song: {x-}{x-}/{4-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{k-Clubs}/{x-}

Seiver's seven-low was good, and he took the pot.

Deeb Bets Out Hang

Level 3

Pot-Limit Omaha

Shaun Deeb opened to 1,300 from the cutoff and Nick Schulman called from the button. Tommy Hang made it 5,000 to go from the small blind and it folded back to Deeb who called. Schulman got out of the way, allowing the dealer to fan {4-Spades}{J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} on the felt. Hang slowed down with a check and Deeb dropped 4,100 forward. Hang called.

Fourth street was the {5-Hearts} and Hang checked for a second time. Deeb led out for 10,300 and Hang went deep into the tank. Ultimately, he opted to let his hand go and Deeb was pushed the pot. He's now sitting over the 200K-mark with 213,000 in chips.
