Hands #28-30: Tug of War

Level 28 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Hand #28: Jared Jaffee opened to 75,000 holding the button, Mike Watson flatted, and the flop came {q-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}. Watson checked, Jaffee bet 100,000, and Watson smooth called. On the {10-Clubs} turn, Watson tapped the table for a second time, and Jaffee continued his line by firing a second barrel, this time for 215,000. After thirty seconds of thought, Watson committed the calling chips to bring to the board the {10-Diamonds} on the river.

Jaffee then led out for a 315,000 wager and Watson finally relented, a look of frustration spreading across his face as he sent his cards into the muck.

Hand #29: Watson opened to 65,000 and Jaffee flatted, with the flop coming {3-Spades}{4-Clubs}{j-Spades}. Jaffee and Watson checked and the turn came {8-Hearts}. Jaffee led out for 75,000 on fourth street and Watson stared straight ahead for a few moments before tossing in the call. On the {10-Clubs} river both players checked, and Watson's {a-Spades}{6-Clubs} was best over Jaffee's {6-Hearts}{5-Spades}.

Hand #30: Jaffee opened to 75,000, Watson defended, and the flop came {j-Spades}{7-Spades}{8-Clubs}. Two checks brought the {2-Diamonds} to the board, and both players checked once again to see the {a-Diamonds} fall on the river. Watson checked for a third time and Jaffee seized the initiative with a bet of 115,000 to win the pot.
