Wattel Makes a Crying Call

Level 19 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

We found Mike Wattel tanking on a board of {q-Spades}{j-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades}. He had checked out of the blinds and saw Joe Mitchell bet.

"I call," Wattel said with an audible sigh.

Sure enough, Mitchell showed {a-Spades}{2-Spades}{10-Spades}{10-Hearts} for the nuts both ways.

Wattel winged his hand into the muck.

Abrams Busts Van Alstyne

Level 19 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

We arrived at the table in time to find James Van Alstyne all in and at risk before the flop against Brandon Gerson and Scott Abrams. The latter duo were still playing heads up for a side pot.

The flop came down {5-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and Gerson checked. Abrams led out and Gerson called to see a turn. The {3-Spades} rolled off on fourth and both players checked, allowing the {6-Clubs} to complete the board. Gerson checked and Abrams cut out one final bet. Gerson called and Abrams tabled {K-Spades}{k-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} playing his two kings for the high and ace-deuce for the nut low.

Gerson's hand was no good and Van Alstyne stood from the table, mucking his cards as well. Abrams scooped and score the elimination, bringing his stack to 310,000.

Mike Wattel was all in, and Joe Mitchell bet a {k-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop against Steve Lustig, who called. Mitchell bet again on the {9-Clubs} turn, and both players checked the {k-Diamonds} river.

Mitchell showed {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, and the aces were good.

Hui Over Goldberg

Level 19 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

We arrived at the table in time to find Phillip Hui and David Goldberg engaged in a hand with a {2-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{J-Spades} flop. The money went all in for Goldberg's tournament life.

Hui: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
Goldberg: {K-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}
