Four Tables Left

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Masaaki Izushima has advanced after his {A-Clubs}{9-Spades} bested his opponent's {A-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} on a {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{8-Spades}{9-Diamonds} board. "I'm in the money?" an uncertain Izushima asked the dealer. He smiled from ear to ear when the dealer told him that he was. "That's important. Good." He's guaranteed $4,411 but if he has a good two days he can turn it into much more - up to $259,211 for first place.

Matusow Wins Gruelling Match

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante
Mike Matusow
Mike Matusow

Mike Matusow has sent Chad Eveslage to the rail after an epic heads-up battle.

The final hand saw all the chips going into the middle on a {10-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop, Matusow holding {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and Eveslage {K-Clubs}{5-Spades}. The {J-Clubs} on the turn gave Matusow a ton more outs, one of which was the {Q-Hearts} that fell on the river.

Matusow congratulated his opponent for being such a formidable opponent and wished him luck for the rest of the series.

Matusow Claims The Chip Lead

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Things seem to be going Mike Matusow's way again judging by the fact he now has 28,000 of the 36,000 chips in play in front of him. Chad Eveslage isn't one for laying down and letting a player walk all over him so Matusow's victory is far from certain.
