Coppola Busts Ethier

Level 14

Pot-Limit Omaha

Denis Ethier opened to 2,800 from the button only to have Fabio Coppola cut out a three-bet of the pot from the big blind. Ethier called all in for 3,100 more and the hands were turned over.

Ethier: {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Hearts}
Coppola: {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{10-Spades}{9-Clubs}

The board ran out {3-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{9-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} giving Ethier aces and jacks. These two pair were not able to beat Coppola's flush, however, and he was sent to the rail as one of the first casualties in the money. Coppola, on the other hand, now sits at 88,300 in chips.

Wasserson Eliminated Just Before Money

Level 14

Stud 8

Wasserson: {5-Clubs}{2-Hearts} / {2-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{5-Hearts} / {x-}
Smirnov: {6-Clubs}{8-Spades} / {A-Clubs}{6-Spades}{A-Spades}{5-Hearts} / {k-Diamonds}

We arrived in time to find Anton Smirnov fire out a bet on third street and Eric Wasserson call all in for his tournament life of 2,600. Waserson made fives and deuces by the hand's end, but it was unable to beat Smirnov's aces and sixes. We didn't catch Wasserson's seventh street card, but it was of no help to him. He was eliminated just shy of the money.

Clements Doubles Through Laak

Level 14

No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw

Scott Clements moved all in from the button for his last 4,500 and Phil Laak called from the small blind. The big blind folded and Laak announced that he was pat. Clements patted behind and the hands were turned over.

Laak showed {J-}{10-}{6-}{4-}{2-} but it was no good against Clements' {10-}{7-}{4-}{3-}{2-}. Clements scored the double and now has about 10,200 in chips.
