Chips, Lots of Chips

Level 6 : 100/200, 25 ante

Two talented ladies are climbing up the chip counts right now and are poised to make Day 2. Maria Ho is up to around 16,000 chip and is enjoying a shoulder massage, probably as a reward for accumulating such a stack, while Jamie Kerstetter is only 200 chips behind on 15,800.

The UK's Rhys Jones (11,300) and Sebastian Saffari (5,600) are doing OK for themselves, as is Adam Friedman who has 10,200. Freidman was disappointed when we spoke to him as he informed us he had 22,000 chips not so long ago.

Look at That Big Boy

Level 6 : 100/200, 25 ante

When I walked by his table the last time, I joked with Aaron Henderson and said that he will likely have added more chips again after his massive turnaround in the levels three and four. It turned out that he was just doing that, the Employees deep runner is already at more than 30,000!

Twice On the River

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

We only caught the action on the {5-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} where the opponent of Jamie Kerstetter bet 700. Kerstetter made the call with {A-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and that was good enough to take down the pot, sending her to more than three times the starting stack.

Rhys Jones moved all in for 6,000 to claim a sizable pot on the {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} river, the opponent folded.

Samet Wants More of the Same

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

Larry Samet may not be a household name when it comes to poker, but he could be if he continues to accumulate chips at the rate he has done over the first five levels of the Millionaire Maker.

While on our rounds to find hands of interest, Samet's stack caught our eye, we counted it and found it contained chips worth 49,000.

"Have you been involved in many big hands or are you just running well?" we asked Samet.

"I'm running reeeaaarrrly well," came the reply.

Samet's stack puts him in the top 10 chip counts overall including those who have finished Day 1a, which puts him in a great position for a deep run here in Event #8.

Shorr's Second Effort Was Short and Sweet

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

It seems like it was only a few minutes ago that we were telling you that Shannon Shorr had busted Day 1a of the Millionaire Maker and was jumping straight into the Day 1b flight. Well he's now busted from Day 1b, but is heading to register for tomorrow's $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em event.

See you tomorrow Mr Shorr.
