Ivey Loses a Little

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Mehrdad Yousefzadeh
Mehrdad Yousefzadeh

Phil Ivey opened the action for a raise and found a caller in the other big stack at the table, Mehrdad Yousefzadeh. The flop came {Q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and Ivey continued with his pre-flop aggression by making a bet of 11,000. Yousefzadeh raised it to 25,500 and after a few seconds of contemplation, Ivey tossed out a call.

The turn was the {10-Spades} and both players checked. They would repeat this on the {9-Hearts} river. Ivey shrugged and turned over {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} and did not seem surprised when Yousefzadeh turned over the winner with {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades} for queens and tens. Ivey did a quiet tap on the table with a stack of his chips having dropped to 425,000 after the hand. Yousefzadeh, in the meantime, moved up to 660,000.
