DeGeorge Falls to Shaw

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

We picked up the action on a {10-Spades}{3-Spades}{4-Spades} flop when Joe DeGeorge checked from under the gun and Christopher Shaw bet 105,000 from middle position. DeGeorge responded by check-raising to 260,000, but that opened the door for Shaw to move all in. DeGeorge called off for 610,000 total and discovered the bad news.

DeGeorge: {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Shaw: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

DeGeorge flopped top pair, but it was still behind the pocket jacks of Shaw. DeGeorge got lucky though when the {9-Clubs} appeared on the turn, which threw Shaw into a bit of a tantrum. He uttered a few expletives, wondered aloud how such a thing could happen, and didn't even notice the {4-Clubs} complete the board on the river.

Someone then informed Shaw that he won with a better two pair, which obviously turned his attitude around. On the other hand, DeGeorge was counterfeited and saw his 2014 WSOP Main Event come to an end.
