Hougaard Grimaces

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Jesper Hougaard
Jesper Hougaard

The board read {J-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} when we saw Jesper Hougaard bet 12,200 after his opponent had checked. After a while Hougaard's opponent called and the river was the {4-Spades}, putting two pair on the board.

The action was checked to the Danish two-time bracelet winner who paused for a while before checking behind.

When Hougaard's opponent announced he had ace-high the Dane grimaced and mucked. Eventually {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} was shown and Hougaard was knocked down to right around 100,000 chips.

Middleton Droll In Defeat

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Tom Middleton and his opponent both checked on the turn of a board showing {2-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}. The river card was the {6-Clubs} and when his opponent bet 9,000. It took a few moments before Middleton threw out the call. His opponent turned over {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs} for a full house and Middleton remarked witheringly, “Is that all?”

Not a great day so far for the English Pro and Barcelona EPT Main Event champion, he has lost close to 100,000 of the stack he started with.

Olisar Busts Huspeka

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

David Huspeka four-bet shoved over a three-bet from Ryan Olisar, and Olisar made a snap-call.

Huspeka: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Olisar: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}

The {10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop gave Huspeka two backdoor draws, and the {k-Clubs} kept the Broadway draw alive, but the {9-Clubs} bricked off on the river.

Huspeka hit the rail, while Olisar chipped up to 125,000.

Ace-High Good For Greenwood

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

The flop showed {3-Hearts}{3-Spades}{9-Spades} when Lucas Greenwood was caught betting 20,000 from the small blind. The player on the button raised to 40,000 and the Canadian player tanked for a bit before making the call.

The turn was the {2-Diamonds} and both players checked. On the river the {8-Diamonds} hit and Greenwood checked right away.

The player on the button tanked for a bit before ultimately checking behind.

Greenwood confidently announced, "Ace high," and tabled {A-Spades}{10-Clubs}. Greenwood's hand was good and he chipped back up to 240,000 chips.

Johnson's Cold Four-Bet Fails

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Chanracy Khun opened for a raise in middle position, and Jared Bleznick three-bet to 10,800 in the cutoff. On the button, Chris Johnson dropped in a four-bet to 24,000. After the blinds mucked, Khun asked for a count of the raise, and after about a minute of thought, he placed 52,500 in the middle. Bleznick quickly folded, and Johnson let it go after brief consideration.

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
