Broderick Busts Karlsson

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Faced with an open from Jon Broderick, Mats Karlsson moved all in for roughly 150,000. The action folded back to Broderick, who tanked for a considerable amount of time before calling.

Karlsson immediately ripped over {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} after Broderick announced a call, and Broderick was reaching into his stack for chips. Other players at the table told him he didn't need to put the money out immediately, he could just turn his cards over, so he stopped gathering chips.

Broderick didn't turn his hand over, however, perhaps thinking they were on the bubble and not allowed to turn their cards over until a floor person told them to. The dealers are also instructed to pause before running out an all-in and a call in case the ESPN cameras want to capture the hand.

No cameras came around, and Broderick finally showed his hand - {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}.

The dominant ace held as the board came {2-Hearts}{3-Spades}{k-Spades}{10-Clubs}{3-Hearts}, and Karlsson was eliminated.

White Hits a Bump in the Road

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

NASCAR driver Jason White just put Ben Palmer at risk with {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} all in preflop against Palmer's {a-Hearts}{8-Spades}. Palmer had shoved from an early position. Everything was looking peachy for White as the first four came {6-Spades}{9-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}, but an {a-Clubs} river gave Palmer new life.

Myers Falls to Georato

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Robert Georato opened with a raise from early position and it folded around to Ross Myers in the cutoff. Myers three-bet shoved all in for his last 95,000, prompting the button and blinds to release their hands. Georato, however, announced a call.

Georato showed {A-Spades}{J-Clubs} and was behind Myers' {A-Hearts}{k-Clubs}. Myers looked primed to double up, though that all quickly changed when the dealer fanned a {4-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{10-Spades} flop. Suddenly, Georato was in the lead with a pair of jacks and Myers was the one who needed improvement. The turn and river brought low cards, though, with the {8-Hearts} and the {6-Diamonds}. Myers took to the payout desk while Georato increased his stack size to 719,000.

Mandavia Gets Unlucky

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Ankush "pistons87" Mandavia put shorter stack Juan Ramirez at risk for his last 134,000 before the flop.

Mandavia: {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Ramirez: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

The {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} flop kept Mandavia in the lead with aces, but Ramirez caught up with a {k-Diamonds} turn for two pair. A diamond would result in a chopped pot on the river, but it was a black card: {8-Clubs}, no help to Mandavia.

Wilted by Sindelar

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

We caught the action on the turn with a board reading {8-Spades}{j-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. Aaron Wilt was all in from the button for his last 162,000 holding the {10-Spades}{9-Spades} for a flush, but it was second best as Daniel Sindelar held a better one in the big blind with the {a-Spades}{6-Spades}. Wilt still had a straight flush draw to fall back on, but it didn't come in as the {A-Clubs} blanked on the river.

Wilt was eliminated in 416th place and will take home $25,756 for his efforts.

De Meulder Halted

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Matthias De Meulder
Matthias De Meulder

Matthias De Meulder has just been knocked out and we managed to get a hold of the details from a colleague who was standing by.

Matthew Hruska raised from middle position to 20,000 and a gentleman in the small blind called. De Meulder moved all in from the big blind for 174,000 and Hruska called, which was followed by a fold from the small blind.

Hruska: {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}
De Meulder: {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}

The board ran out {Q-Spades}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and De Meulder was knocked out in 433rd place. This was De Meulder's second Main Event cash after finishing 645th in 2009.

Eyster Takes Another All-In Confrontation

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Kevin Eyster
Kevin Eyster

We found Kevin Eyster all in on a flop of {q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{6-Hearts} against Brent Taunton.

Eyster: {q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Taunton: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

Eyster had come into the pot from early position and flopped top two, while Taunton had the misfortune of flopping top pair with top kicker at an awful time. His slim equity dwindled to zero as the {4-Spades} turned and the {k-Diamonds} hit the river. Eyster is suddenly a force with 700,000, while Taunton is crippled to a handful of big blinds.

Eyster Busts Arani

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

[Removed:321] Abedi Arani was on the button and moved all in before the flop for his last 136,000. Kevin Eyster called and the hands were exposed.

Eyster: {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Arani: {J-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

The board came down {5-Spades}{3-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}, giving Arani top pair on the turn but ultimately allowing Eyster to make a winning straight on the river. Arani hit the rail and Eyster boosted his stack to about 281,000.
