Ali Eslami
Ali Eslami

From middle position, Ali Eslami raised to 52,000. Anthony Diotte reraised from the hijack seat to 130,000, and Eslami called to see the {Q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop. Both players checked, and the turn was the {2-Diamonds}. Again, both players checked, then the river brought the {9-Spades}. Eslami bet all but 1,000 of his chips for 459,000, and Diotte tank-called. Eslami showed the {7-Spades}{7-Clubs} for a set of sevens, and Diotte mucked his hand.

Jordan Takes This One

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

From early position, Pfizer Jordan raised to 50,000. Craig McCorkell called on the button, and then Dong Guo reraised to 112,000 out of the small blind. Jordan called, and McCorkell called, and the flop came down {K-Clubs}{10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}.

Action was checked around on the flop to see the {K-Hearts} pair the board on the turn. This was where Guo led with a bet of 75,000, Jordan called, and McCorkell folded. Then, the {9-Hearts} completed the board on the river. Guo checked, Jordan bet 365,000, and Guo gave it up.

Midena Put to the Test, Guesses Wrong

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

With the board showing {7-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}, Tom Midena checked and Tony Roberto moved all in for 459,000 effective into a pot of 328,000. The bet put Midena to a decision for all of his chips and he went deep into the tank for several minutes. Eventually he decided to call with the {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}, but Ruberto rolled over the {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for turned trips to win the pot and eliminate Midena.

Nick Yunis busted out.

Nick Yunis, who spent a portion of his Day 1 flight as the chip leader, just saw his run in the Main Event end when he jammed from the button with {a-}{j-} and William Cole woke up with {k-}{k-} in the big blind. The Chilean flopped a pair of jacks but was unable to improve from there, and his last 381,000 went to Cole.
