Blumstein Lucky to Get Half

Level 3 : 200/400, 0 ante

Stud Hi-Lo

Action was three ways on fourth street where a player checked, another bet and Blumstein called. On fifth street, the player who bet picked up the lead and he bet again. Blumstein called while the other player in the hand folded. The player bet again on sixth street and Blumstein called once more, then both players checked it down on seventh street.

Scott Blumstein: {x-}{x-}/{5-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}/{x-}
Opponent 1: {x-}{x-}/{2-Spades}{7-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{9-Hearts}/{x-}
Opponent 2: {x-}{x-}/{K-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} — Folded

After checking on seventh, Blumstein's opponent showed {K-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Hearts} for a eighty-seven low. Blumstein however was able to pick up half the pot with {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{9-Spades} for a pair of twos.

"Ah man," the player said. "I should've fired there. I usually do even if it's not +EV."

"This is so much fun," Blumstein said laughing after the hand.

The Champ is Struggling

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante
Ron Ware
Ron Ware

Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

A player opened in the cutoff and the button called before Ron Ware called as well from the big blind. All three players drew two cards. Ware checked, the big blind bet and the button called. Ware called as well.

On the second draw, Ware took two, the cutoff took one, and the button took two. Action checked to the cutoff again who bet, only Ware called this time.

On the third draw, Ware took one and his opponent stood pat. Both players checked. Ware showed a {J-} but his opponent showed {9-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-} and Ware mucked the rest of his cards.

The defending champ started off by winning a few pots, but seems to have lost a few since and only sits with about 2,000 chips.

Wrong Game for Bakes

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

Limit Hold'em

Multiple bets went into the pot preflop between David "Bakes" Baker on the button and his opponent in the small blind. The flop came down {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and the small blind led out with a bet. Baker raised, the small blind made it three bets and Baker just called.

On the {8-Hearts} turn, the small blind led out, Baker raised and this time the small blind called.

The river was the {2-Spades} and action checked to Baker who bet, the small blind called. Baker showed {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}. The small blind smirked and flashed his {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}.

"It's a good thing it wasn't no-limit!" the small blind said, laughing.

Despite that, Baker still picked up a decent sized pot and moved to just under 10,000 chips.

O'Dell Scoops In a Big One

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

Limit Hold'em

Action was on the turn with the board showing {Q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{7-Hearts}. O'Dell checked to his one opponent who put out a bet before O'Dell made it two bets. His opponent made it three bets and O'Dell made it four bets. The player called.

The river was the {3-Diamonds} and O'Dell bet again. The player just called this time but was dismayed to see O'Dell's {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} for a full house. O'Dell's opponent flipped his cards into the air and we didn't quite catch them, but O'Dell did say after the hand that it was quite a cooler.

"There's nothing you can do after that flop," O'Dell said, possibly implying that his opponent had pocket eights for a lower full house.

Benny Glaser: {x-}{x-}/{K-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{10-Spades}{Q-Hearts}/{x-}
