Small Pot for Metaal

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante

Govert Metaal raised to 1,000 and the player in the small blind was the only player who made the call.

Metaal continued with a bet of 700 on the {3-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{10-Spades} flop after the player in the small blind had checked to him. Again there was a call and the turn was dealt.

Metaals' opponent check-folded on the turn when Metaal bet out 2,200 and he won the pot.

Konnikova Sends One to the Rail

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante
Maria Konnikova
Maria Konnikova

Maria Konnikova has just sent a player to the rail after she put him all in on the river.

The player on the button raised with Konnikova in the small blind and the player in the big blind calling. The flop fell {k-Spades}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts} and the button player continued for 1,800 when the action was checked to him. Only Konnikova called.

The turn was the {a-Diamonds} and she once again check-called, this time for 4,650, which left the button with just one 5,000 chip behind him.

When the river came the {4-Clubs}, Konnikova put one single 5,000 chip into the middle, and the button went into the tank. It took a couple of minutes for him to act but he did make the call, and he allowed the dealer to muck his hand when Konnikova turned over {k-Clubs}{q-Spades} for a pair of kings to win the pot.

A lot of familiar faces are in the blue area of the Brasilia room. A new addition to the notables names is Anatoly Filatov who sat down with a fresh stack of 26,200.

Bansal Chips Up

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante

Paawal Bansal faced a raise to 4,100 on the {5-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop after he had bet. Bansal made the call and the pot was already over 10,000 before both players got to see the turn.

They checked both when the {J-Clubs} came down and Bansal checked another time when the {Q-Spades} river came down. His opponent pushed 6,500 to the middle and Bansal looked like he was facing a tough decision.

After a while, he called and his opponent tabled {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}. Bansal showed {A-Clubs}{10-Spades} for the best hand and he won the pot.

Stausholm Stays Alive

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

Martin Stausholm was in the big blind with a stack worth around 10 big blinds and called a raise from the button after the player in the small blind had flatted. The blinds checked to the button raiser on the {j-Spades}{3-Hearts}{j-Clubs} flop, and he bet 1,000. The small blind called, and Stausholm put the rest of his 3,050 chip stack into the middle.

The button called and the small blind folded before they tabled their hands.

Martin Stausholm: {j-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{3-Clubs}

Turn: {q-Clubs}
River: {q-Spades}

Stausholm had flopped trip jacks and was ahead of his opponent's two pair. The Dane improved to a full house by the river and revitalized his stack up to 10,000.
