Ware Puts Ross on a Nub

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Mike Ross: {x-}{x-}/{A-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}/{x-}
Ron Ware: {x-}{x-}/{7-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{6-Spades}{7-Diamonds}/{x-}
Mikko Hirvonen: {x-}{x-}/{Q-Spades}{4-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}/{x-}
Opponent: {x-}{x-}/{5-Spades}{9-Clubs} — Folded on fourth

Mikko Hirvonen raised and he was called by Ron Ware and one other player before Mike Ross made it two bets and was called by all three players.

On fourth, Ross bet and was called by Ware and Hirvonen only. On fifth, Ross bet again, but this time it was enough to put himself and Ware all in creating a side pot with him and Hirvonen. Ware ended up making a straight with his final hand being {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs} which also gave him a low. Ross ended up making a pair of aces with his {A-Clubs} and {4-Hearts} under which was just enough to beat Hirvonen who had {Q-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for a worse pair.

Ware earned a triple up while Ross was only able to collect the small side pot worth 1,800 chips.

"What a f*cking disgusting card, Grumpy" Ross said, grabbing Ware's four and flipping it upside down. Ware let out a cackle and scooped in the pot to stay alive.

Justin Bonomo couldn't keep the magic going here in Stud Hi-Lo as he just went bust in a hand where he got all his money in on fifth street. His remaining two opponents checked down sixth and seventh.

Bonomo: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}/{8-Spades}{j-Spades}{3-Hearts}{7-Spades}
Seat 8: {x-}{x-}/{6-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{2-Spades}{9-Diamonds}/{x-}
Third player: {a-Hearts}{3-Spades}{10-Clubs}/{6-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{a-Spades}

Bonomo showed down queens but was beaten by aces.

Abrams Takes One on Fifth

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Scott Abrams: {x-}{x-}/{4-Clubs}{2-Spades}{A-Spades}
Player 1: {x-}{x-}/{5-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}
Player 2: {x-}{x-}/{Q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{9-Spades}
Player 3: {x-}{x-}/{4-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

Scott Abrams was the bring in and one player called before the player showing the {Q-Spades} completed. Abrams and two others called making it four-way action to fourth street.

On fourth, all four players checked and Abrams picked up the betting lead on fifth street with the {A-Spades}. He bet and found folds from all four players and that allowed him to take down the small pot and chip up a bit.

Chad Takes On the Russian

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Mikhail Semin: {x-}{x-}/{2-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{10-Clubs}/{x-}
Norman Chad: {x-}{x-}/{A-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{10-Spades}/{x-}
Tim Burt: {x-}{x-}/{4-Spades}{10-Hearts} (folded on fourth street)
Opponent: {x-}{x-}/{A-Spades}{Q-Clubs} (folded on fourth street)

Mikhail Semin was the bring in and one player called before Norman Chad completed. Tim Burt called as did Semin and the other player as well.

On fourth, Chad bet again. This time only Semin called.

"Just me and the Russian?" Chad asked.

Chad checked on fifth and Semin checked as well.

"Just in case," Semin said.

On sixth, Chad checked. Semin put out a bet and Chad called. Then on seventh, both players checked. Chad showed his {5-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades} for a pair of eights, and it was good enough to best Semin who only flashed his {2-Diamonds}{5-Spades} before mucking his hand. Chad took down pot and built his stack back over the starting point.

Hellmuth Wins a Bit of Matusow's Chips

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Mike Matusow and Phil Hellmuth each made it to fifth street, where Hellmuth paired nines and came out betting. Matusow folded despite pairing threes, as a player behind him had three to a low. That player raised and Hellmuth called. Hellmuth called sixth but check-raised on seventh.

Matusow: {x-}{x-}/{2-Clubs}{3-Spades}{3-Diamonds} (folded on fifth street)
Seat 1: {x-}{x-}/{4-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}/{x-}
Hellmuth: {x-}{x-}/{9-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{j-Spades}/{x-}

His opponent called and Hellmuth announced "high only" as he tabled {9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} for nines full. His opponent made a low and took half of the pot.
