Albini Wins on Sixth Street

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 7,000 ante

So far, the vast majority of the heads-up pots have been decided on third or fourth street.

One recent exception was a hand in which Jeff Lisandro completed and Steven Albini raised. Lisandro called and they both checked on fourth street before Lisandro fired on fifth. Albini called and fired when Lisandro checked to him on sixth. Lisandro grabbed his board, turned it upside down, and shipped it toward the dealer.

Jeff Lisandro: {X-}{X-} / {5-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{8-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} - fold
Steven Albini: {X-}{X-} / {2-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 7,000 ante

Steven Albini: {X-}{X-} / {A-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades} / {X-}
Jeff Lisandro: {X-}{X-} / {Q-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} / {X-}

Steven Albini completed with an ace and Jeff Lisandro called. On fourth, Albini bet and Lisandro raised. Albini called. Albini then check-called a bet on fifth before sixth was checked through. On seventh, Albini checked once more and called a bet by Lisandro.

"Two pair. Two small pair," Lisandro announced and flashed the {A-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Spades} for sixes and deuces. That was enough to rake in another pot to pull away further after the dinner break.

Lisandro Takes the Lead

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 7,000 ante

The first hand of heads-up play saw Steven Albini complete with an ace and Jeff Lisandro defended a queen. Albini fired on fourth and fifth where he made an open pair of tens and Lisandro called both bets. Albini slowed down on sixth street and check-called when Lisandro's board hit a third heart.

Lisandro fired again on the river and Albini called, announcing tens up. Lisandro, however, rolled over a flush and took the chip lead.

Jeff Lisandro: {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{J-Clubs} / {Q-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

Katherine Fleck Eliminated in 3rd Place ($43,765)

Katherine Fleck
Katherine Fleck

Katherine Fleck: {5-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} / {5-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} / {2-Spades}
Jeff Lisandro: {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} / {10-Spades}{4-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{8-Spades} / {Q-Spades}

Katherine Fleck was the bring-in with a five and Jeff Lisandro completed. Fleck called. Lisandro bet fourth and Fleck gave it some thought before calling, then faced another bet on fifth. Fleck had 93,000 remaining and moved all in. Lisandro called and was ahead with pocket tens. Fleck only had pocket fives and failed to improve.

Two years ago, Fleck finished in fourth place and this time bowed out in third, taking home $43,765 for her efforts.

Steven Albini and Lisandro agreed to take the 60-minute dinner break half an hour early and will return to their seats at approximately 9.20 p.m. local time to battle for the coveted gold bracelet.

Chris Ferguson Eliminated in 4th Place ($29,999)

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 7,000 ante
Chris Ferguson
Chris Ferguson

Chris Ferguson was the bring-in and Steven Albini completed. Ferguson had only 27,000 and called all in.

Chris Ferguson: {8-Hearts}{2-Hearts} / {2-Diamonds}
Steven Albini: {A-Hearts}{2-Spades} / {7-Clubs}

Ferguson was ahead with split deuces which were also blocking one of Albini's cards. Albini, however, made a pair of sevens on fifth to seize the lead.

Ferguson instantly received an ace for aces up, prompting an "oooh" from the rail. But Albini got another seven on the same street, getting the "ooohs" as well.

Ferguson needed to hit an ace or a deuce to make a boat and survive, but he peeled the {8-Spades} instead. Albini showed a meaningless {6-Clubs} river card as Ferguson headed from the stage.
